The existing version of this part on my road bike cracked, which fubar'd my front derailleur shift cable. One of those parts you don't think about until it's gone. My only complaint is that these things should be made of metal. They used to be many years ago and they would last forever.

Works as expected but be sure it will fit your bike model

Be warned! On the bottom side of this bracket the plastic is molded with a large protruding cylinder (only on one screw hole) so as to guide the use of the larger possible screw. It's such that a persons bike frame needs to have a precise large hole already fabricated into their bike frame for this to work. I thought about trying to file it off yet from a past experience it's not worth the hassle. The seller should actually advert a photo of the reverse/underside of the bracket so buyers know what they're getting into.

Nothing big to describe: this was part of a shifting tune up that has been flawless up to about 3000 miles of city/hilly lots of shifting commuting.

Perfect fit. The frame is 1995 model and had the Shimano model SP-16 cable guide. These are hard to find and a little pricey. The SP-18 comes in several flavors (designated by the -s -m or -t suffix). My model was the -t and fits well. I have not had a chance to make a ride since installation, so I can't comment on durability. I would hope that being a newer model it will hold up just as well as the original model. One comment noted having to snip some tabs on the bracket. This part cannot be changed without replacing the shifter cables, as they need to be routed through the bracket.

Great for rebuilding bicycles when the original cable guides are damaged or worse. I have purchased these for three bicycles now adn they work great.
