This is my second Sherwood Avid BCD. My first one is about 18 years old and it still works fine. Recently some friends of mine who have an inground saltwater swimming pool, became interested in learning how to scuba dive. I agreed to teach them the basics of scuba diving and I needed two setups which I thought I had. Unfortunately, my old Dacor BC could no longer hold air. So, I bought another Sherwood Avid. What I like about this Avid is that it’s a pretty heavy-duty sport diving BCD. I like the steel D rings to hold accessories. As a recently retired public safety diver of 21 years, and diving for 39 years, I used this Sherwood Avid on a professional level and it performed very well. My diving unit switched over to the Zeagal Ranger LTD BCD’s. Since we had to use department issued equipment, I retired my Avid to sport diving. The quality of my new Sherwood Avid seems to be every bit as good as my older Avid. And the price is reasonable as for BC’s go. If you’re interested in a heavy-duty BCD at an affordable price, you won’t go wrong with this Sherwood Avid.
