The material and hook were good, the online instructions were difficult to access and understand. I ended up using the kit to make another pattern I found online.

Ce kit de crochet pour débutants SHENJILL vient avec tout ce qu'il faut ainsi que des vidéos tutoriels. Le résultat donne un joli chapeau. J'ai été étonnée que ce soit du ruban de nylon et non pas de la laine plus fine, mais ça se crochète quand même bien. Les vidéos (si c'est votre première expérience) peuvent vous donner du fil à retordre car ça va vite et c'est traduit de façon malhabile.

The photo I posted is not a complete hat but as a crochet newbie I followed the video instructions and did not like how the shape of mine turned out. Probably a skill issue causing uneven tension, but I could not get a nice dome shape on top. I continued to the first few rows of the hat brim to see if it would turn out okay but did not like the look. I will probably find another pattern for the top and use the brim from this pattern since I like the flowery look of the brim. This kit uses ribbons and even though I did not finish the whole pattern I still have a good amount left on the roll, so I'm pretty sure there's a sufficient amount. I've never used ribbons as 'yarn' before so this is a cool experience. There is a small amount of the ribbon in yellow included as well, as well as a 5.5mm hook, markers and basically all the crochet tools you need to complete the hat.I'm a knitting person and only crocheted very simple stuff like coasters in the past so this is my first larger project. The videos could definitely be easier to follow. The voice is the AI generated type without proper pause and sounds like it was machine translated with some mistakes. I probably had to watch the first one 50 times on slow speed and tear out the progress from the first couple videos 30 times. There were some parts that are not clearly shown or explained.

I loved that there was enough yarn to finish the project and enough to make an accessary. I'm old school so scan bars or whatever that is to get to a video, I had to ask help from my grand-daughter to help me get access to a video that was on youtube. The written instructions could have been done better. I am giving a 5 star because there was sufficient material to get the project done.

I wasn't happy having to give only 3 stars for this crochet kit, because the kit itself is awesome. The yarn is more like a shiny tape yarn, flat and slightly textured, and actually has the appearance of straw or raffia from a distance, but isn't nearly as hard on the hands (plus it should last a lot longer). It is crocheting up very nicely and the hat itself should be great when I finish it for our daughter. The only reason I deducted a star is because, like other reviewers mentioned, there are NO written instructions included. While I understand that most people have internet access nowadays, not all of us like (or need) to use a phone to watch explanatory videos. Also, we like to crochet while watching TV in the evenings, but now have to pause our show, to listen to instructions for the next row; very frustrating. My wife also likes to crochet in church, but wouldn't be able to do that with this project. It is such an issue to not have printed instructions, that I initially was going to take off two stars, but the kit is otherwise so very nice as well as reasonably priced, that I didn't want people to think it was a bad kit overall. Just beware that you will need to keep watching videos in order to complete this kit.

The hat is really beautiful and fits nicely. The directions are very very good but only on video which is a little annoying. I’m so happy with this hat

Overall, I'm really happy because the hat came out really cute!! But it is WAY too small for my (admittedly large) head. In fact, nobody in my house could wear it. I don't know if this is an issue of me crocheting too tightly or not because there's no gauge to check against.They do not provide written instructions which is a bummer, but the video instructions are pretty good and I was able to get through them without any real problems. A lot of the pattern is repeats, so the video instructions weren't as painful as I expected.It was a fun project and I've already started making a second one, but this time in a larger size!!

This is extremely difficult for me. The video goes way too fast. I can't keep up. I have to pause and go back and replay each step repeatedly, and I still can't figure it out hours later. I keep having to undo what I have and start all over. The written instructions make no sense. This is obviously not for beginners. I have never hated anything as much as this! Great way to turn someone off from starting a potential new hobby. Why does she say "yarn cover" in the video? Shouldn't she say "yarn over"? How would I know, I've never crocheted before. And never will again. Wish I could get my money back for this foolishness.

I'm not very skilled with yarn and crochet hooks, but this tutorial is easy to follow. I started just a week ago, and step by step, I'm falling in love with crocheting! I'm learning the basics and having fun. Hopefully, I can finish before summer.

This crochet kit is a fun way to get started, and the sun hat design is cute. The materials are good quality, and the video tutorials are helpful, though I found some parts a bit confusing as a beginner. With a little patience, you can still make a nice hat!
