Buy these if you have a few retrofit water connections to make and can't leave water off for an extended period. They cost more than old school brazed copper, but these have zero fire risk. Plus if your brazing skills are rusty, these eliminate that. If you need or want to add or change in the future, simply press in the lock and the tubing releases. Recommend the release pliers, but they are not a must just a helper.

These connections make the DIY plumber like me a pro. They helped to save time and make it easy to take apart my shower valve at camp on the fall to prevent freezing over the winter.

They work great but stubborn to get on sometimes with the bolt threads. I found them to only go in halfway in the unit I used. The thread was either too long or too thick. I had to cut the bolt to make it fit. Not fun to do. Once on they’re solid. This was for a bathroom install for shower. Once on I had to use a crescent wrench to remove. The plastic shark bite removal tool is trash.

In tight spots on copper lines, this made life much easier. Able to remove damaged piece and install this in minutes. Seemed of good quality and highly recommend.

I use it to do the modification for my shower pipe connection. This one serves the purpose.

Worked great and used to easily connect a 3/4-inch Flo by Moen. The subtle beauty of using a shark bite is you can also easily remove and reuse them on a wet pipe, can't do that with a solder joint. I found out after installing the Flo by Moen my water pressure was too high so I actually need to remove it and add a PVV in front of it so I will be adjusting the configuration and a SharkBite makes that relatively easy to do and makes for a neat job. I have been using shark bites since they came out and have never had a failure...I cannot say that about a solder joint, though in all honesty I cannot solder so good anyway.

I'm old school and actually like to sweat copper joints but this time I decided to try Sharkbite when converting my water heater to tankless.I initially had a lot of difficulty getting some of them to fully insert the 3/4 copper pipe. I darn near pulled a muscle trying pushing and pulling to get that second click when it's fully seated. Then I had some leaks when turned water on, and was feeling frustrated. So I did some web surfing and learned how important it is to debur the pipe ends, even in my case where I had clean cut ends with the pipe cutter... Just that tiniest of edge from the cut indentation was enough to cause problems.I then pulled it all apart, deburred all the ends well and everything went together easy peasy, and zero leaks.Although the price is expensive compared to soldering copper, you can't beat the convenience of sharkbite for easy assembly and disassembly.
