I have never bought anything refurbished, and I almost just opted for this brand new. I read the reviews on this and decided I'd *attempt* to like a refurbished product. It came out the box looking brand new. Smells brand new. No dust or dirt on it anywhere. Brand new bristles. The app was easy to set up. I did have to Google the actual manual to look at something, but this things cleans on time (you can create a schedule), doesn't miss a beat. I can also tell it to just clean one area if I don't want the whole house cleaned. It self empties, and about every 8 or 9 days I'll go empty the trash bin on it to see the dirt it's picked up. I haven't swept my floor in weeks. It never feels grimy or dirty. It goes over thresholds with no issue, changes from my thin carpet to hardwood easily. I've had it about 2 months, with daily use. Pet hair is clean, dirt is gone. And... if there is an issue, I bought the 2 year warranty for an extra $20 or $30. I'm really impressed. I used irobot in the past, shark is where it's at!!----Purchased June 2024. It is now Jan 2025.Over 6 months of perfect use and still going strong! Could not be happier with this purchase!

I've had this for about 10 months now. Never ending connectivity issues that have progressively gotten worse. It seemed fine for a few months, then would disconnect and the only way to reconnect was to get fully reset and set it back up again. As of late, it will run once or twice and a couple days later, I have to reset it. Just absolute trash, which is unfortunate as our other Shark robot is excellent.I finally found time to call tech support. You have to call because chat or email isn't an option so that's an inconvenience. The gentleman I worked with was extremely pleasant but all he could do was walk me through the same reset procedure I have been doing so that he could note it and recommended I call back next time it disconnects. Certainly not his fault but looking at other reviews, there are clearly consistent issues with this robot so I'll have to jump through some more hoops in the coming days.I will say, when it works, it does a great job. I've had good luck with Shark Ninja products in the general but this one is a dud and will make me think twice before purchasing another bot from them.UPDATE 03/20/24 - After nearly a MONTH of dealing with their tech support, I'm ready to toss this into the garbage. SharkNinja's support, while very nice, are useless. Every call, it's starting from scratch. I've been promised callbacks on 3 occasions and not one callback has occurred. On top of that, they try the same thing: reset and reconnect the bot, then they say they're going to push a firmware update that could take up to 2 days. That time comes and goes, no firmware update and the bot disconnects. They'll tell you they need to try it one more time and then they'll look at other options. This is unacceptable. Terrible product and terrible service.

We just redid the carpet in our house after 30 years. To help keep that carpet looking new, I upgraded to this self-emptying robot from an older Roomba. It does a great job navigating around our house and seems to clean well. It hasn't gotten stuck anywhere yet.The app feels a little clunky, but works fine. You really need it at setup. After that, I have it set to clean the whole floor every morning at 7.Bin isn't very large, but except for a spill we had, with daily cleaning of a new carpet it doesn't fill. There is a setting to have the robot return to the base every 30 minutes to empty the bin. We haven't needed to empty the base after 2 or 3 weeks of use. It uses its sensors well and doesn't bump into many obstacles. In all, we are very pleased

Edit: It survived 1.5 years before it sucked up dog pee, which was fine, but then another dog peed on it. The bumper tends to divert water into the motherboard which has NO water shielding, no rubber gaskets, no anything. NOT WATERPROOF / NOT WATER RESISTANT. No issue if you never have your vacuum peed on or let it go outside in the rain (sometimes unavoidable unfortunately). The motherboard was fried and I replaced it for about $40.----------------------It's the most important things you could want, at a bare minimum, from a robot vacuum: lidar navigation, anti-wrap anti-hair roller, and it self-empties into a bin, NOT a bag (thank you Shark!). The lidar nav is super important, and after having a iRobot Roomba S9+ and a Eufy before that, I will always require lidar on my robot vacuums. It cleans so much faster, maps faster, navigates better (but not fool-proof).I now own two of them, one for each floor of my house. These have no trouble cleaning up after our FOUR DOGS. I have to empty the bins every ~7 days as they're completely full with tightly packed dog hair. They've been working well for six months now, cleaning every single day.Unfortunately, the no-go-zones don't always work. I leave the door open for the dogs to go outside, so I have a BIG no-go-zone around that door. Seems the robot doesn't know where it is initially, and in the process of figuring it out, it crosses the no-go-zone and goes outside. Then, it tries to vacuum the grass, mud, etc, and then it either disconnects from WiFi or finally gets something stuck in its rollers. Major cleaning of the robot is required after that.EDIT about replacement parts: Yes, the Shark official replacement parts are super overpriced. Luckily, there are plenty of generic china filters that are super cheap, so you can replace any of the filters confidently with these. The brushes, however, are a different story. From what I've read, I'll never buy a generic china-manufactured brush for either the main or side brushes for this vacuum; all the generic brushes are garbage at this time. I ponied up ~$25/brush to Shark to order replacement main brushes, which you probably want to do every ~8-12 months if you vacuum once a day. The side brushes can get bent but you can straighten them in hot water. In late 2023, at least, Shark was still manufacturing the replacement brushes.Edit2: I finally tried a generic china main roller brush, and it performs fine. From my experience, you can buy the generic cheaper replacement parts for all brushes and filters on this vacuum.
