Bei diesen Pickups geht echt die Sonne auf. Habe sie mir für einen Squier Jazz Bass gekauft, der Preis lag 100 Euro unter dem regulären VK, da macht man nichts falsch. Sehr hoher Output, leichtes Mittenloch.

Installed on a MIM Standard Jazz Bass and did not needed any wood modifications to the body of the instrument. Direct replacement for MIM Jazz Bass. It greatly improves the tone of my bass. Way better than the stock pickups.

Great pickup set by Seymour Duncan producing a high output sound, easy to install and easy on the eyes too. Makes my Jazz bass really growl with a bit of compression. The included wiring diagram is very helpful and there are additional resources on Seymour Duncan’s website.

I installed on a squier jazz bass. The pickup change was easy. They fit with no problems. There was no hint on the colors of the cables. But the answer was on internet (black is always ground). Compared with the stock pickups, the difference is huge. They are louder, they sound fat (I use flatwound strings). And now my squier jazz bass sound so good.

I installed these (SD 1/4 lb) on my Fender MIM Geddy Lee Jazz base. I also installed new 500k pots in place of the stock 250k. And paralleled a 47 & 33 uf capacitors.I could not be more happy with the out come. Nice crisp highs and deep dark lows when I roll the tone out. My tone range nownis very wide with alot of options. Also I have a passive/active P/J and with these modifications my J bass has as much punch passive as my P/J when I go active. Definitely worth the money

In January 2018 I bought a new Fender Jazz Bass MIM to get away from the Rickenbacker 4003 sound in our 50's -2000's cover band. I thought I could manipulate the tone enough with caps and series switching to get the tone I wanted but it wasn't quite right so I ordered a set of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders, model number SJB-3. They arrived in a padded envelope in three days via UPS ground the first thing I noticed was the plastic case was cracked but I closely inspected the pups and there was no visible damage to either one, I just wished they would have been packed in a small box.The Quarter Pounders are a quality built pickup, each containing eight powerful alnico 5 magnets. The stock pups used steel posts with magnetic strips on each side. The neck pup dropped right in, too far in, so I had to come up with some foam weather stripping to make up the 5/16” difference on both of them. The bridge pup was binding in the route which required a little work with a wood chisel to remove some wood and sprayed in noise insulation so the pup would slide freely.I also ordered a pot kit with a new 0.45 mf tone cap and put it all back together, setting the height to 1/8” per the instructions. The first thing I noticed when I turned on the amp was the higher output and cleaner tones. There was more of a tone separation between each pup and it really did help with the overall sound, but it wouldn't do the deeper dives that I needed for These Boots and Blu Beau type songs so I ended up trying many, many other tone caps and finally settled on the 0.045 mf and added a 0.032 mf cap through a push/pull switch. My bass never really had a problem with noise from fluorescent lights and the new pups didn't seem to change that. Other reviews say that they are more sensitive than the stock, but again that wasn't my experience. In the end, the new pups brought new life to the mids and upper end, and rolling off the neck gives it a very snappy and rich tone for slap without being piercingly sharp. If you are looking to turn your JB into a “Sugar Pie Honey Bunch” thumper, these wont get you there, but if you are looking for a new life and rich clean tones, these are your pickups.

These really gave my Squier VM Jazz Bass a big lift in sound quality. The sound is very modern and scooped (heavy on bass and treble, light on midtones)--which is actually kind of what the jazz bass is known for anyway, but keep that in mind if you're looking for a more vintage John Paul Jones tone. Also, these pickups are LOUD--quite a bit louder than my old ones. (I'm talking about the notes coming out of it. There's no signal noise that I've noticed.)As these are true split coil pickups, they retain an authentic jazz bass tone, but do hum a bit when one pickup is soloed. A noise gate (either a pedal or on the sound board) will usually make this unnoticeable, but it's something to keep in mind.Overall, these are great at taking the most defining characteristics of a jazz bass and turning them up to eleven. If you're going for a vintage tone, though, you might give the Dimarzio Area J pickups a try. (I have those on another bass and they sound great, but very different.) If you need to get rid of the hum, the Dimarzio Ultra Jazz might be a good fit--very similar to the Quarter Pound pickups, but noiseless (although a bit less authentic, since they're not single coil).

Excellent, clear, punchy, great note definition. 60s rock, 70s R&B, modern jazz, this set covers it all. I build custom guitars and basses, have tried many different types and brands. These are my go to pickups. To be honest, I was a bit surprised at how articulate these are, as the SD quarter pound p-bass pickups are somewhat dark.

Love these Quarter Pound Jazz pickups by Seymour Duncan. I put them in my Fender American Standard, which came with Fender Custom Shop 70's pickups. I was actually happy with the originals until I got my Fender Nate Mandel P Bass which comes with the SD Quarter Pound P Bass pickups. I fell in love with the sound I was getting out my rig with the P, and noticed that my J was throwing waayyy too much treble comparatively (even with the tone and bridge pickup turned back). I'm sure I could have tweaked things with a bit of effort through my effects processor, but thought I'd give the SD's a shot in the J and see what happens. I'm much happier with them. It gives me a sound and volume levels more consistent with the P bass (much more of a "thumpier" bass tone), but still allows for me to get the wide range in tones you can achieve with the J. Couldn't be happier.
