I bought this Servo Motor for my industrial sewing machine because the old clutch motor was noisy and it just didn’t give me the control I wanted. Right away I noticed this motor runs quieter. You don’t get that loud buzzing sound while it's idle. Noise can drive some people crazy while operating dangerous machinery. The installation was pretty easy even for someone like me who isn’t a mechanic. The instructions were clear and all the parts you need come right in the box. Once installed the motor worked perfectly. I was happy with the speed control. The old motor felt like the machine was always going at full speed. With the new servo motor I can stitch slowly when I need to. The foot pedal is also very responsive which makes working much easier. A great feature is you can adjust the direction to run clockwise or counterclockwise. That’s not something I’ll use a lot but it’s good that the option is there. The motor itself feels well built and solid. It's got plenty of power for what I’m doing. You can use it on heavy fabrics like denim and canvas and it doesn’t struggle at all. This the best you could ask for when you need to replace the motor.

I ordered this servomotor not for a sewing machine, but for my small metal lathe. And it’s a huge improvement over the stock, fixed-speed motor I’ve been using. It has plenty of torque, smooth acceleration, runs quietly, and offers lots of control over speed. The controller is, for the most part, easy to program with the included instructions.I have a couple of minor issues with this motor, but they don’t keep this from being a five-star product in my opinion. First, there are some parameters you can access on the controller that aren’t listed in the instruction sheet. I’ve been experimenting with them, but it’s not clear to me what they do. This is particularly frustrating to me in light of my second issue. That is, there are a couple of functions I’d like to enable or disable if possible, but I don’t know if they are included in the program set. Specifically, I’d like to disable the motor brake so my spindle can run down smoothly, and I’d love to have the controller display show the actual motor speed while running. As it is, the display doesn’t show RPMs while the motor is in operation. (NOTE TO SELLER: If you can provide information about enabling speed display and disabling the motor brake, please let me know.)The bottom line: this is a terrific motor. It’s quiet and powerful, and should work as well with sewing machines as it does with my lathe. I highly recommend it!
