This is a good toilet for camping. It holds a lot and emptying it is reasonable easy. If you can set it up so you’re using this just to pee it’s absolutely perfect. This the other side of things were it falters. Even if you take the time to get some water into the bowl first it’s never enough and you leave a lot behind on the plastic. Then it often gets stuck while ‘flushing’ then, if that wasn’t bad enough, the mess gets scraped back and forth in the area where the bowl empties into the holding tank. It basically needs a full clean with gloves on and a bunch of Lysol wipes every single time it’s used this way. We had to switch to used a five gallon bucket and kitty litter for those times. This thing still smell horrible since even with a toothbrush dipped in disinfectant there’s just no way of getting all those little moving parts totally clean. I wish we had known this and never, ever used it for anything besides pee.Six month update: we’ve gotten a lot of use out of this and now, after only six months, I’m in the process of trying to find a supplier for a replacement cassette. From what I’ve found on the manufacturer’s site these may or may not exist. If I can’t get one we’re going to replace it with something from a different brand because it’s ridiculously wasteful to buy an entire new setup because the cassette is gross. We’ve done our best to keep it clean but there’s no way of really cleaning the inside of it or the small moving parts. After lots of weekends of use by our whole family it’s just too disgusting to keep using. For this price it should be at least somewhat reasonable to clean. We’ve bought special brushes and everything, there’s just no way to clean it out throughly and since the openings are so small it doesn’t completely dry out in between uses so mold becomes a secondary issue.
