This septic system cleaner is straightforward to use. Just pour it down and let the cleaner work overnight. The ingredients seem green and pipe-safe. It is important to note that this cleaner is for the septic system and not regular sewer that connects to the city. For the price range, it is reasonable and comparable to other solutions on the market.

There was snow and ice outside when the Septic System Drain Field Cleaner arrived, so I had to wait until the weather warmed up before adding it to my system. The bacteria in septic systems slow down below 50 degrees (F) and can become inactive in freezing conditions. I wanted to make sure to maximize the shock as much as possible.Since this is a shock for the entire septic system, I poured half the bottle in one of my two toilets and half in the other to cover as much of my drain lines as possible. I have a septic tank plus a pumping tank that pumps to a septic pond in the back of my lot. My soil has too much clay for a true drain field, but I do have about 150 feet of drain line to the pond. Every part of my system could use a good shot of clog eating bacteria.The cleaner has a light lemon scent. I like that this is a liquid septic treatment. The dry powder treatments are always difficult to flush completely and can leave a mess to clean up in the toilet.

We’ve been living in our current house for less than a year, and it’s interesting having a septic system. We’re learning about the differences between being on city sewer and our own septic, and honestly, I miss the city sewer! Our septic seems to be running well, although there are some days it seems sluggish.This product was extremely easy to use; I opened the bottle, poured it into the toilet, and flushed twice as directed. I didn’t see a difference, but I wanted to use this as a maintenance treatment rather than correct a specific acute issue we were experiencing. My parents (who have a septic system) told me that I’d KNOW when I had a problem, so no news must be good news in this situation.If you need a septic shock product, this one is reasonably priced and easy to use. I’d order this product again - and probably will so I can do this again in another 6-12 months.

I used this product to address a slow-draining toilet in my master bathroom. While pouring the entire bottle into the toilet improved the drainage slightly, the results were not as significant as I had hoped.The product seems to work to some extent in breaking down organic debris, and I appreciate that it’s safe for plumbing systems. However, for more severe clogs or slow drainage issues, additional treatment or a stronger solution might be necessary. It may be more effective as part of a regular maintenance routine rather than a standalone fix for persistent problems.

This product is for people with SEPTIC SYSTEMS - not people on a regular city/county provided sewage system. I say this because I don't know how many times I have read reviews of septic products from people who obviously live in a city and are on a sewer line. People - they are two completely different things !!!! If you are on a regular sewer and are looking for something to help your slow drains... this is NOT it. Now, back to the people who have septic systems and know what they are looking for. This field cleaner is great to get your drain field/leach field back to a healthy level of bacteria if it has gotten out of whack through the use of chemicals, too much food products, or too much of the wrong type of soap or detergent. I also use the monthly pods to keep the bacteria in balance but this once a year "shock" treatment is great for adding the extra punch needed if your system gets a bit too much paper, sludge, or general stuff that may be slowing down the flow to your field. I know I have a blockage in a specific spot in my field as I can tell the grass grows greener all along it and then there is a "stoppage area" and then the lines are less green beyond that. Normally the use of a big shock like this will unblock it and it will flow through all the pipes laid down for the leaching purpose. This product is for a normal sized septic system. You may need two bottles depending on the size of your tank. Easy to use, dump it into the toilet and flush several times. I would still count on using the pods monthly as well.
