I've had a couple of security cameras previously and this is by far the easiest to set up. It took longer to take the stuff out of the package than to have four cameras up and running.

I purchased the 4 pack and they were very easy to install and worked perfectly. Then about 6-8 months later 1 camera stopped working on its own, my wifi is perfect I have not changed wifi or password all is been the same since I made this purchase. I did report it and received a replacement, thanks to customer service. But.. then about 2-3 months later another camera goes out with the same problem. It says “it won’t connect to the wifi” same as the first camera issue. So I report it Again and received another replacement, thanks again customer service. Then guess what.? About 2 months later another camera with the same issue. I got tired of calling customer service and cameras keep going out every couple months. So I will not call them back for another replacement because this is really getting ridiculous, so I just decided to never purchase these cameras again. Nothing against customer service, they were great but as far as for this camera brand.. one word says it all. “SUCK!!!!”

I hooked them up and they work like a charm!!!Bought on January 1st 2023 and I just found out they work better than my name brand camera!I may buy 4 more because they were so simple to hook up.It took a little common sense to get them to work but it wasn’t that hard 🤗If I knew all this I would have passed on my extra camera add-on on my other system.A kid can hook this system up!And yes it has a subscription starting at a low cost per month BUT it’s worth it 🤗I have Spectrum for my WiFi carrier and it works fine with this system.I will definitely get to test them in the harsh weather conditions down here in Texas.All I can say it buy buy buy!!! 😎

I got frustrated during the setup as I'm more a PC person than phone/Android person. When the instructions said to scan the QR code, I tried to scan the QR code on the body of the camera with my phone. Nope. On the 4th or 5th try, the camera started speaking. It then told me to place the QR code that appeared on my phone in front of the camera. Wallah! After that, easy peasy. I placed the camera's in the interior as close to the exterior mounting points first as a test. My NightHawk R8500 router is approx 50ft+two stories away. They connected but one was quite weak and the video blinked on and off every 5 seconds. I wasn't surprise as its quite far away; even for a 2.4Ghz signal. A signal analyzer phone app indicated my router signal was at 43% at both exterior locations. Since I'm a perfectionist, I now have a mesh router system on order. The entire power cord length is approx 9 ft max which is nice as I'm using soffit outlets. I was surprised to see electrical/sealing tape in the package. Smart. One disappointment is the Windows PC version of the Septekon app is very basic compared to the phone app. If all goes well with the mounting and new mesh network, I plan to get two more. Edit: 4 camera's running now for a few months. Generally pleased with the system on a mesh router system. Most annoying features: the motion detector "person" function does not work well and annoying repeating messages to purchase an "upgrade" package. I gave up trying to run the PC version of the software.

Begore I say anything about the camera, DO NOT BUY THE CABLE AMAZON TELLS YOU TO ADD!!!!!! That cable's connectors do not fit the camera's.Now to the meat! The 2K resolution is excellent. I can read the license plate off any vehicle that pulls in my driveway. I trust the integrity of the camera's case to handle the weather enough to use it for guarding my $50k Travel Trailer! The camera is powered by USB and the power cube is included. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the the USB cube and connection is not weatherproof, I loosely wrapped the entire assembly in a Ziploc bag, punched the prongs through the bag and plugged into my extension cord. Problem solved. The exiting cable is Ty-Wrapped. You will need a microSD if you want to see a timeline and history of recordings. I have yet to figure out how to use the cloud, but expect to pay $70 a year for the cloud service. If you need to extend beyond the power cable's reach, it is cheaper and faster to get an AC extension cord than it is to figure out what size connector is used and than finding a DC extension. The connecction to my router was insanely simple using QR codes. It's been ten years since I set up and I.P. camera and that was a pain in the neck! All in all, one on the most economic buys I have ever made! Good price, good constuction, and good quality.
