My daughter had a surfing accident in Fiji slamming into the coral reef. She hurt her back severely but not her head. She was saved by this Helmet.The Helmet hit the coral reef and saved her from a head injury.!!!

Low profile. Better coverage than other helmets. Lightweight. It does not affect my vision whatsoever. It does affect hearing because the ears are covered. I noticed no water resistance when duck diving or swimming underwater. I wish it had a lip above the eyes for sun protection so I bought a short brim baseball cap to wear under the helmet. A lip would be good to prevent errant kiteboarding lines from sliding down over the face. The side pieces are somewhat flexible. I did not use the customizable foam inserts, but they don't seem very durable.

The look was interesting and I use Gath helmets a lot when shooting surfers and waves. The thin quality and the pads falling out after only one use were a disappointment. I had the proper size but the chin strap was a tad too tight. I also felt a good bit of pressure on the front of the helmet. My Gath helmets were a lot more comfortable and the padding more significant in my opinion. I’d love to hear about someone who actually had contact with the ocean bottom or was hit by a board. I took a direct hit from a board once in my Gath helmet and had zero damage to my head. Helmet was toast.Just heard back from Simba and they are sending me new and improved pads. Apparently I got one of the earlier models with pads that were not very good. Thanks 🙏Just got the replacement pads and now the fit is perfect. The 3M 300 LSE double sided tape they use is new and improved so I bought a few sheets of that since I am in the water every day and i don't really expect any adhesives to hold up in salt water with that kind of abuse. Purchased for my son to replace another brand surf helmet he has had and used for many years when surfing at certain surf breaks around the world. Although we could have replaced the inserts of his old one, I decided to invest in a new Simba helmet and I’m glad I did. He says it’s much lighter, more comfortable and isn’t as cumbersome on his head when duck diving under the waves. I also like the added protection that the design of this helmet offers with the side piece. The helmet is a small investment to make to ensure the safety of your surfer. Having witnessed friends suffer serious injuries on the shallow reefs that they were fortunate to recover from, this more comfortable Simba helmet he doesn’t mind wearing, could truly be his life saver.
