Ok, I used to be an earbuds guy - went thru several v-moda remote remix (discontinued) and even the bluetooth Jaybird Bluebud X and X2s - because I could never understand people in the subway or walking around in NYC in the hot sun wearing headphones for their iPhones/Androids. (I still am for private listening.) But I do a lot of sound recording and video editing on my laptops, so I started using headphones, like the classic Sony MDR 7506. But i wanted a lighter more portable alternative, so I was looking at the classic headphones used by pros. At first almost got the Sennheiser HD25s which I love and sounded great, flat response, can hear all the treble, mids and bass without the over bassy crap on most pedestrian phones (like the Beats and the Boses). But when I went to B&H and tried different ones, I heard the HD26. They were awesome, same sound as its sister HD25s, only better build quality. (Love how the headbands split automatically when you expand the headphone on your head). Had to get them, but didn't like the PRICING - twice as much as a 25! ($315 opposed to $129.) Ok, so they are made in its home country of Germany, not in Ireland, or China or Alburquerque or wherever else Sennheisers are being made, which accounts for the price. But after weeks of searching and once I found a pair of new HD26s for a really great price - sorry, not on Amazon - I never looked back. It's worth every Euro on this thing. I now carry around them with me (in a headphone case of course, to protect your investment) to on-location shoots and editing sessions. And they're good to listen to music too.

If you want headphones that are durable and great sounding, these are for you. If you want great looking headphones that come in attractive packaging, look elsewhere.

An improvement over the iconic HD 25. Flat sound (great for pro audio types), comfortable easy covers, opening mechanism works very smoothly. Only niggling point: why not a right angle connector?

Simply the best! I'm in love. Very comfy. They are better sounding headphones than V-Moda M100 and HD8 DJ. Very crisp with unique mids and highs. Bass is punchy. HD8 produce a better lower bass, though the mids a lowered by about 4 or 5 db which I find a downside of HD8! Here is a funny fact, you can see a pair of HD 26s a few times in a movie called Alien: Covenant!

Very good STUDIO headphones...NOT for DJ-ing. Bass is not strong enough... the HD 25s are better for dj use
