I’m not gonna lie I was skeptical of all these reviews about turning back the clock. My dog was showing signs of dementia and I was devastated and desperate to try anything. It has been so long since I last saw her play, I would take her outside to chase the ball and she would walk to it slowly or on her really bad days, get distracted halfway there and wander off.Well now it’s been two months on senilife (I give it to her every other day because she is on medicine the other days) and the results have been unreal!!! My girl is sharp again, she is running and playing every day!! I haven’t seen her run like this in at least 2 years, it’s incredible!! Every night we go outside and play again and she is so happy. I also have her doing puzzles regularly, it helps with her symptoms as well. Senilife is incredible I can’t recommend it enough!! It’s given me my best friend back when I thought I was going to lose her. I’m so grateful for this amazing product. Don’t hesitate, it is worth every penny. But also just know it does take some time to start working, so keep going with it.

We haven’t been using this long enough for a proper review but I wasn’t able to find information about dosage on the XL. The pictures show the regular capsule next to the XL as well as package information.

I started giving these to my dog when she was diagnosed with canine dementia about 6 months ago. I started at the same time she was starting a bunch of other medication and supplements and I found trying to put these in her food so FRUSTRATING. Pills were flying across the kitchen while I was trying to pierce them, the liquid inside was getting on the walls, it was a nightmare. The only good thing was that my dog really loved them. I tried the smaller version that has the twist off top, much easier to give, but so expensive as she needed 3 a day. So I stopped giving them to her, and maybe it was in my head or maybe it was unrelated, but it seemed to me that she took a turn for the worse. Seemed to have more trouble staying focused and was losing balance. I had forgotten these were on my S&S, so I tried them again but this time just chucking the whole pill in her food and covering it up. She eats raw food so its quite wet and it causes the capsule to start dissolving enough that it becomes soft and my dog eats it without noticing. Instructions say to put in dogs mouth, but my dog doesn't take pills that easily and these are HUGE. Definitely cant hide in a piece of food or anything unless you have a big dog that eats anything without chewing. Took a long time to work out how to get her take them, but I do think they are helping.

I cannot say with 100% confidence that this is what made my dog sick but she stopped throwing up after I discontinued use. I was really hoping it would help her cognitive decline and early onset dementia but we only used it a few weeks. I'm hoping it works for others. Take this with a grain of salt. My girl is 11 and also has inflammatory bowel disease so we have to be a little careful about what she ingests as it can set off her disease.

Our Chesapeake Bay Retriever / Lab mix is 11 years old. He's been a bubbly, happy, puppy-like dog since we got him at 5 months. He's always been a bit skittish, but several months ago, his behavior changes drastically. He began digging up the carpeting in various rooms of the house. He would randomly paw something around the house, even in our presence - a speaker, a chair, the corner of a wall. He would scratch our bedroom door at night for what seemed like hours on end. I finally started sleeping in the same room with him.To calm him temporarily, we used a Thunder jacket and a blanket covering his head. He then got progressively worse. He would pant very heavily all night. He would cuddle up to me and bury his head nearly beneath my body. He would shake incessantly. He would walk to a corner of the room and just stand there staring. We tried Prozac because we suspected initially that it was some sort of separation anxiety, but when he exhibited the same behavior in our presence, we knew something else was wrong. A visit to the vet, along with a full blood panel, ruled out any obvious physical ailments or severe pain. After some deep despair on my part, I started reading all I could about his symptoms. My wife and I concluded that he was suffering from canine cognitive disorder. We tried three drugs on our own - Denamarin, Cholodin, and then Senilife XL. Unfortunately, we were so desperate that we had him using all three at once. He improved remarkably in about 2 weeks. We took the chance of dropping the Denamarin. It was the most difficult to easily administer (empty stomach, 1 hour before each meal, twice a day) and the most expensive. Fortunately, we believe the active ingredients in the Senilife work and we continue to give him 2 capsules daily. He's in the range of 95-100 pounds. For folks who have had the heartbreak of watching their beloved dogs lose their mental faculties (and in our case, he also started randomly pooping in the house), and feel their pets' days are numbered, this drug is a lifesaver ... for both owners and their dogs (literally). Many illnesses and conditions are beyond our control. We make our pets as comfortable as possible until the end of their lives. For cognitive impairment/degeneration, there is hope. There are other drugs available and I hope they work well. I can just attest to the effectiveness of Senilife XL. The dissipation of symptoms and the positive change in his behavior, energy level, and responsiveness to us is remarkable. He is mostly his old self again. Not perfect, but so much more than we ever expected.
