This piccolo broke within 3 months after purchase and also have poor pad and key work . The horn is also very pitchy, youcan tell by the feel of the horn that it was made very cheaply.

The other review is from an amateur. Cork grease is needed for this piccolo because it has a cork. The cork and the silver plating provide a rich tone in the lower and upper register with the right musican. This is a steal for sure, it is very low prices for high quality sound and silver plating. This piccolo is better than my friends wooden Jean baptiste piccolo that is priced near one grand. Definitely recommend it. If it is extremely sharp or flat have a person from your local music store adjust the cork. I've had mine for three years and it is amazing.

Our band just purchased two of these with the help of donorschoose.org. Do not be fooled, these are TERRIBLE! They feel and look like quality, but there is a major design flaw: the corked metal piece snapped off from the body on BOTH of our piccolos within a day of each other. We purchased them in March 2014. It is now August 2014. So, within five months these piccolos became unplayable. DO NOT waste your time and money. The Prelude piccolo is made in China, and it shows.
