I wanted to try these for years. I wanted longer and more weight capacity then I could find. After using them, they work for most of my load needs. Better than normal ratchet straps, you can keep ratcheting until the load is secure. These are a real time savers.

I found these a little awkward to use with the reel so close to the ratchet part, There’s not a lot of room for your hands to keep tension on the strap. Also, these are very difficult to release and loosen for some reason. Something in the mechanism binds and makes it difficult to release.

Worked well, one strap came off the spool. Torquing handle small. A removable and interchangeable handle would be helpful. A stiffer strap or strap guide would be helpful to ease operation. Overall good for the price, especially since I’ll seldom use it again.

I bought these as a gift for my father in-law, brother in-law, and husband. They were all intrigued by the idea of these. I think they work well and the concept is good behind them. It is nice to not have to secure the loose end of the rachet strap every time. That all being said, it is a little tricky to use at first. The part of the strap that holds the excess is kind of in the way when you are wanting to loosen the strap or tighten the strap. You have to roll up the strap by turning the nob which is fine but you have to watch what you're doing otherwise you get a mess on your hands. I would buy these again because I think they are handy and a good value. I think the 3 men like them as well.

I hate dealing with excess strap on tie downs and have destroyed some in the past even after carefully tying off the excess, so these straps with a built in spool are a fantastic idea. I've only used them a handful of times so far so I can't speak to their durability but they work exactly as advertised and are easy to use. I also like that the spool makes it easy to wind up the strap to make a small bundle for storage. I don't really understand why some others here have had issues with them. Seems like maybe they haven't used standard ratchet straps before or are the people in black and white on "as seen on TV" ads who manage to strangle themselves with a garden hose while trying to water the lawn.
