This thing is great!!! It has a large pan in the rear of the unit that holds the "waste". We like the ability to adjust the robot's timing for scooping the litter after our cats make their deposit. We started off with 20 minutes but bumped it up to 30 minutes because we were noticing the litter was still a little moist in the catch bin. We like that after the robot scoops the litter, it activates a "decontamination cycle" with black lights (not really sure how effective this is or not). We have 2 cats using the litter box, so the catch bin does fill up quickly because our little fur-demons do nothing but sleep, eat, and defecate.The robot is super easy to assemble, use, and clean. The robot comes with 2 rolls of extra bags, a hand scoop, an extra rake, a cleaning brush, and some extra replacement parts to use inside the area where the magic happens. Emptying the catch bin is easy, as the robot is quite tall, so I'm not having to bend over far. The app also gives you the ability to see how the life of the litter is progressing, and when to change/add more. You can not only make the robot do a cleaning cycle on the app, but there are also buttons on the side to do it as well.For the amount this thing costs, we are very happy with how it works, and the ease of use. In the past 6 months we had paid close to $500 on our cats, specifically to prevent our Yorkie from getting into the litter box, and eating the "Kitty-Roca". Had we just been smart and bought this robot in the first place, we would've been way better off.The only thing we had to do extra for our litter robot is we bought some bags of charcoal bags to help with deodorizing stench in the catch bin area. Although this is primarily because we have 2 cats using it (and our cats do nothing but eat and defecate).

The cats love it, bc it's always super duper clean. For us it's so easy. We just pick up a little bag with the stuff in it every few days (for two cats!!!!) no stink, no fuss. Did I tell you it has a UV light that goes on to super sanitize the liter after it cleans it. Soo cool! Recommend for anyone with a cat, and much more so for folks with more than one cat. The snooze feature at night is great so it won’t wake anyone up, too!

1 month review - It is so easy to set-up and it works perfectly. We currently have 4 cats and 3 regular litter boxes. Two cats used the self-cleaning box in week two and the other two cats started in week 3. All four cats have been using the SmartElf in week four. This Self-Cleaning Litter Box has helped us save time and product. Odor is under control and the easy clean up is GREAT! also, My wife loves the App! We are thrilled with this product :0) We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality product that actually does as described. We will be purchasing another SmartElf for my son and his fiancé.

So my old litter robot finally broke ( only after 2 years, so disappointed) and was looking for a new one when I came across this little gem. The self cleaning (SmartSelf) litter box is perfect!! Its small, but big enough for a medium size cat. I have 2 cats, a little Bombay and a medium Long Hair Ragdoll. They both fit in it and use it.This one I like more because of:1. It has steps that pull out and catch litter so not as much goes on the floor2. the door closes when its cleaning so the cats cannot get in3. the waste bin is built into the back and hold the waste. Not wasting as much litter as with the other one4. it is a lot quieter than the others. Yes you can still here it, but doesnt sound like a garbage truck emptying my trash cans.a BIG plus: if you like DragonBall like I do, looks like the flying pods that Vegeta uses!! LOLthe only con is the instructions. A little on the small print side to read, but thats just because I cant see for crap. so no need to take off for that.Its so much cheaper and works so much better!! no complaints from anyone!!Just buy it, you will like it.FYI: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!! the steps.. you HAVE to pull them out until you hear a click or it will not work!!! I had no issues with them but it seems some people have.

This litter pod is a definite game changer! Since getting this no more scooping for me which is such a blessing and I only empty the waste bin once a day even with seven cats using it. Just take out the bag, tie it up, put a clean one in and go about your day. No more smell means no more asthma flare ups.Honestly, I was a little hesitant with the price but decided to take the plunge and I'm never going back to a regular litter box or any other litter box. I think it's a good value for the money especially that they give you two rolls of bags, extra foam pieces for inside and an extra rake. I'm considering getting another one (not that we need it since one works great for all of them) but just for another room in the house so they have options or if we need to put them in another room for the day I won't have to move the one we have.All of the cats took to the pod immediately. Cleaning it once a month is a breeze. Set up was about 20 minutes since I had a little issue but all good. It says it only works on 2.4 WiFi but I have 5g and it works just fine. You can order replacement parts either through Amazon or their own website and that there are videos on YouTube as well. I don't feel it's noisy as I'm a light sleeper and this doesn't wake me up during the night. You can have it snooze at night if you want and turn off the lights both from the app or the buttons on the side.I like that it's roomy and I've had two cats in it at once before. As far as overall size, I don't feel it takes up much room at all.i think it's like the equivalent or less of two regular litter boxes side by side width wise. I love the step that catches the litter as they cats exit. I use a lightweight clumping clay litter and the machine works fabulously plus I use less litter with this than the regular litter boxes.No issues so far with latches etc. The rake did give me an issue the other day but a sensor needed cleaned off on the inside and it worked perfectly after.
