These chains are plenty aggressive for plowing snow over ice. Easy to install and work great on my atv.

Put these on my John Deere Gator, as with any ATV/UTV with knobby tires a bit of a hassle but fit correctly. Forgot to get the tighteners, used some rope as a temporary solution, ordered tighteners, they will be here in a few days.Found it easier to remove the wheel/tire and attach chains. Would be nice if SCC/Peerless made this size in a cable style, they are normally a breeze to attach.

The only thing I don't like about these is the fact that between 2019 and 2023, the price literally DOUBLED. Performance wise these things are awesome. I plow snow with an 08 Grizzly 700, quite a lot. Country driveway, road to shop, pole barn, woodshed, second woodshed. In the same snowfall I tested with and without these chains. In 4x4, high or low gear, front diff lock on, almost a foot of heavy wet early season snow, I could barely push 3 feet forward. I then had no choice but to bring it in and spend the joyous time putting them on. 20-30 minutes later I was back at it and plowing the snow like there wasn't any there. Yeah, sure my engine was working, but nothing was stopping me from pushing the snow. I am now the proud owner of a Japanese built Yamaha M3 half-track.

Wow, chains. I'm a convert. Wet, heavy snow has been the game in SE Michigan the last few years. As soon as you look at it, it just packs down to a sheet of ice. I put chains on all 4 tires of my 400AC atv that I use to plow snow.I went with the 4-link flavor because they were cheaper. No regrets. Lots of folks say 4-link will just fall between the lugs on AG or off road type tires. Maybe my tires are a little worn down... these chains made a world of difference in traction, and the ability to push snow. They do have the v-bars on the cross links, I haven't checked the driveway from "scratches".I'll update in the spring

I just received these. There were two sets of chains in the box. Because others said that only one came, I ordered two so actually 4 sets were delivered. I expect Amazon will take one back. The manufacturer and Amazon should make it clear that this is for a pair of chains like may other chain suppliers do.I found a way to put the chains on without jacking up the tractor (as the instructions imply). I tie the end of the chains to the back of the tire the very slowly go forward constantly feeding the chain so it sits evenly on the tire. The snow and ice season is mostly over so I probably will not test them until next year but they appear to be very effective but clearly not to be used on pavement.

I gave these tire chains a five star review, because they are quality chains, but they are much too large to fit my tire size properly, so now I'm trying to figure out the best way to make them fit.I know I am going to have to cut them up, but it's either that or go through a lot of work with back and forth shipping, and may still never get it right.Does anyone have any better ideas?Stuck between a rock and a hard spot.

These seem like good quality tire chains for medium duty use. I use them on a craftsman lawn tractor with a snow thrower. I have a gravel/dirt driveway, so the chains might last longer than if I had a concrete drive. I think concrete would wear out the links quicker. The chains fit great. My tires are 23"x10.5"x8. I bought a set of chain tighteners and installed them, but I don't think they are really necessary. The only issue I have is the hooks that secure the ends of the chain together. It was kind of hard the get the hooks to line up and latch onto the other end of the chain.update: After getting about 12 inches of snow recently (Feb. 2, 2015) I was able to give these tire chains a work out. They did a very good job. I had plenty of traction, even with some ice under the snow. I use these with wheel weights, about 55 lbs each tire.

A little difficult to install the first time, but I took the advice of one of the other reviewers and deflated the tires first and this helped to ease the installation and ensure a tight fit. I also ordered the "Kotap MBRS-10 EPDM Rubber 10-Inch Tie Downs" to use as tensioners (2 per wheel) -- they were less expensive and worked great. The traction I gained with these chains was just what I had hoped for and the ride remained fairly smooth.
