I bought one of these to use with a "Z-Wave" transmitter for an outside gate. It works perfect for this, due to the wide gap between the metal gate frame edges when closed and latched. Very easy mounting using standard screws. One thing to note: My switch has a proper "orientation" for the magnet side that makes it work right; the other "long" side facing the switch body did not have the same effect. The magnet should be labeled as such, would make it easier to install for those not as acquainted with technical devices. I found this out by testing the install several times, found the problem, and oriented the magnet properly. Absolutely reliable operation ever since.
