This worked to keep deer out of my garden and raccoons out of my bird feeders. The deer haven't come back....yet. I got a BB gun for the raccoons. It's a f@ing war out there.

I use this at my property to scare away any possible wild animals. I keep it with me while working since I’m pretty much alone on my 9 acres. It’s very loud. I haven’t had to actually scare any animals away yet but if I did I would work perfectly. It’s more expensive on amazon than if you just bought it at Walmart.

For several years I've had a persistent problem with the next door neighbors animals trespassing into my yard, specifically a large number of adult peacocks. Those birds have made an appearance on my property at least two to four times a week for the last few years and they've left droppings everywhere; not to mention the fact that their call is a horrid sound and it makes my skin crawl every time I hear it.Those birds have left mountains of poop on my vehicles, but the worst places is all over my front porch, side walks and the rear deck. This not only poses a slip/fall hazard if you don't see the piles of dung in time to not step in it, but it also causes physical damage to personal property if its not cleaned up within a reasonable amount of time. I'm not sure why anyone would want to own something so obnoxious and filthy, but to each his own.For years, I've tried to find some legal remedy to get rid of these pesky birds to no avail. Animal control is useless. They trap and collect the birds, but the owner then pays a fine, gets his birds back and the whole scenario repeats over and over again. Lawyers don't work either. There's no legal precedent and the neighbors have a right to own whatever type of animal they desire. I obviously don't have a right not to be bothered by the neighbors animals on my own property, no matter how big a nuisance they are nor how destructive they can be. As much as I would love to take aim and shoot those pesky birds, that's obviously not the solution either. I wouldn't want to end up in legal hot water for "murdering" or "executing" a bunch of stupid birds or going to jail for animal cruelty.During a recent conversation I had with a friend regarding my history with the birds, he mentioned that a hand held air horn works extremely well for these types of animals, and I knew I had to give it a shot (no pun intended). After purchasing the SeaSense Large Air Horn, thankfully my friends recommendation has been confirmed. Those birds are exiting my property like their butts are on fire whenever a family member gives them a blast or two on these air horns. The horns are extremely loud and can reportedly be heard up to one mile away. Now I almost look forward to the peacocks coming over for a nice visit so that I can blast them with an air horn. Maybe eventually they'll realize they are not welcome and stay at home.

I use to use this to signal my dog to come inside at night. She usually likes to wonder around in our 2 mile deep forest and she knows it well and never gets lost, and this is loud enough for her to hear, even if this forest was many more miles deep. Unfortunately, I had someone call the cops on me and one night when I came back from eating out I saw the police driving through the neighborhood with their spotlights shinning in everyone's backyard. Maybe they were thinking kids were up to no good, but I suggest not blowing this all the time because if someone notifys the police and they find you unaware holding it in your hand there's no doubt they're going to question you and right you up for disturbing the peace. I blew it one day to call her in and 2 cops came running out of the forest and weren't very happy, it's crap they people are so grumpy about it but whatever, from my experience it works great, but I'm restricted from using it for a decade due to the complaint and if it happens again I will be fined. Funny how one essential tool could cause such a commotion.

This air horn is no longer manufactured by SeaSense, but by Shoreline Marine, unless the company changed their name. It's pretty much the same thing except the can has a more rounded shape at the top but the horn is identical. This thing is LOUD!! I was wondering how it would stack up to the Falcon Push Button air horn which I had for years before this and still do but I'm having trouble finding refills for it now. This is a lower pitched horn and I think it tops the Falcon volume wise. It's about to the point of deafening really, if you're using this for pranks, I might look at a cheaper horn out of consideration for your friends' hearing! I'm not kidding, it's that loud. It's very well made too with durable plastic like the Falcon horn and would be perfect for Marine use. All boats are required to have an air horn on board as a backup incase of a failure of the boat horn or an emergency. It will certainly be perfect for such use or for grabbing anyone's attention! I use it for camping sometimes or to scare away unwanted animals from my yard and it certainly does the trick. I really wouldn't use this horn indoors, it's definitely for outdoor use. What else can I say really? It's an excellent product and I'm hopeful it will last for many years!

I have a boorish neighbor who insists it is his right to leave his dog in his backyard unattended 24 hours a day (in our gated community with strict CC&Rs). Poor Fido is bored out of his brain and barks at the slightest stimulation (who could blame him). I finally built a custom made ultrasonic emitter (I studied electrical engineering for my undergrad) which has finally put an end to Fido's yelping, but the neighbor is another matter. He wonders how Fido has been put under wraps, so in return he often does things like begin his lawn mowing at 7;30 AM on Saturday morning. In return, I purchased this airhorn and two Tasers. I love to work late at night and if the rudeness does not stop soon, this airhorn will be going off near his window at 3 AM :) I will say this airhorn does its job well. It is LOUD. When they say you can hear it from almost a mile away, they are not joking. It is just what I wanted. Hopefully, Billy Bob next door will have an epiphany and reconsider, before its use becomes necessary.
