I love them I got to watch them hatch and grow and get big and easy to maintain obly problem is if your house is cold they will die and that was totally my fault so I will be buying them again during the spring and summer months but do love them and did get attached to them for sure while they where alive sad that they died I should have kept them in a warmer place

We have purchased two full sets and extra eggs and none have hatched. We have followed all instructions, exactly as we were supposed to, and even thought maybe the first batch was a bad batch of eggs, but none have hatched. Very disappointed.

I brought this package for my grandchild. He was so excited and his mother followed the directions to the letter (purified water for a day, etc). Unfortunately, not one monkey hatched. Very disappointing!

I was telling my 14-year-old daughter about same monkeys and so I decided to get this for her. Although the tank looks disgusting, the sea monkeys are thriving! After my 8 year-old got to see her sister begin this kit, I got her one as well and she is finding pride in “raising hey babies.” This is a great tool for teaching responsibility of having a pet before you actually have a pet! Not to mention, the monkeys are always super cute. You care for them right and let them thrive! It’s really neat watching them grow from a dot you can barely see to a chunky little monkey that is well nourished and thriving. I’m also happy that this tiny tank is the way it is because my kittens cannot get into it! For some reason, they are obsessed with water and have tried to destroy these sea monkeys to no avail!! It is also a great way to bring a science project into the home!

I got this when there was a price drop so it was a really good deal. You may get a different color than pictured we got teal. The instructions are pretty clear but I still recommend watching a YouTube video on sea monkey care as it definitely helped us understand better. We used distilled water as tap water is not recommended and distilled water is very cheap. It took a couple weeks to see any sign of life and I was getting a bit worried that we got duds. Since I couldn't see any sea monkeys I was very conservative with the feeding, only doing about a quarter to a half a tiny scoop of food each week. By week 2 we saw life. They seemed very happy, especially during feeding time when they would do spins and flips and crawl along the bottom. A little before we saw life, there was almost an orange color on the bottom of the "tank". A quick Google troubleshoot explained it may be an oxygen imbalance or something along those lines and just a quick stir would help. It was also a sign that sea monkeys are ready to hatch! Surely that's exactly what happened. Make sure you don't overfeed as the food is basically algae and overfeeding will absorb oxygen the sea monkeys need and they will suffocate. The pack with the eggs include food for a week so no need to feed until a week after adding eggs. I have a feeling some of the bad reviews are due to improper care. Either way, we love our sea monkeys and are very happy.
