About this item

  • The Seals Splash Deck kayak cockpit cover is designed to provide partial cockpit coverage, offering protection from splashes and sun without the full enclosure of a traditional spray skirt. Great for calm paddling conditions, it keeps the interior of the kayak more cool and comfortable on warm days while also keeping paddle drip off your lap.
  • Materials: The kayak spray skirt is made from medium-weight coated nylon pack cloth, which offers water resistance. It features double-stitched seams for long lasting durability
  • Features: Tensioned Deck Stay: Helps to prevent water from pooling on the deck, allowing it to run off to the sides and off the kayak.
  • Zippered mesh pocket for storing small essentials and adjustable bungee cord to ensure a secure and customized fit around the cockpit rim.
  • Sizing: Splash Deck fits Seals cockpit sizes 1.2 thru 4.2. | Splash Deck X fits Seals cockpit sizes 5.0 thru 7.0 | Seals provides sizing charts to help you find the correct fit for your kayak cockpit. It is important to look at the manufactures sizing chart to get the correct size.

Designed for paddlers who do not require a fully closed cockpit. Great for calm paddling conditions, it keeps the interior of the kayak more cool and comfortable on warm days while also keeping paddle drip off your lap. Sizing: Splash Deck fits Seals cockpit sizes 1.2 thru 4.2. Splash Deck X fit Seals cockpit sizes 5 thru 7. See SealsSkirts website for a complete size chart: sealsskirts dot com

Great to keep spray, drips, and sun off of your legs - while still allowing your legs to breath, and allowing easy access to whatever you are carrying inside - much nicer to paddle with than a full spray skirt. I do wish it had a second support hoop towards the front, as water tends to pool on top of it, but it is very easy to reach under and splash it off - so it isn't a big deal. It is easy to slide it forward too, for getting in and out, or reaching inside - it is just very versatile. Stays on my Necky Looksha just fine. I paddled for an hour in a rainstorm with it last week and it really kept most water out of the boat. I even had a wave break over the boat and the splash deck shed it no problem. Love it! I definitely use this way more than my full skirt.

Used it for kayaking and kept the water out. Also blocked the sun from legs.

I love this for the warm months. It catches the water so you do not get wet, yet it allows air inthe cockpit and is lighter than a full sprayskirt. I actually bought two of them. The only thing Iwould change is to have TWO raised area's on this item, one also in front where the mesh is.Otherwise water pools a little in that area.Seals makes the best sprayskirts for kayaking.

This half deck splash skirt fits the Hurricane Santee Sport 116 absolutely perfect. (should also fit the 120 sport model) One item of issue is pinning (safety pins) the two curve retention straps to the upper inside. This allows your legs to move underneath and not be restricted under the skirt. Putting it on and taking it off is simple and quick. The zippered pouch on top is only good for light weight items ie; sunglasses lip balm maps and maybe phones. Quality of the material and construction is excellent (made in USA).

i wasn't comfortable going with a full skirt, as i'm relatively new to paddle sport. i just wanted something to help keep me dry, since moving to a greenland paddle without drip rings. this splash deck fit the bill perfectly! it's super easy to take off and put on. i really like that i don't need to take off my life jacket if i decide to use the skirt while i'm already out on the water, which is great. it provides the protection i need, while allowing air to circulate under deck since it doesn't seal everything completely.only thing that i'm not a huge fan of is the tension strap, that makes it pretty much impossible to get inside the boat while the skirt is attached. but since there's no tunnel, it's not a huge deal since it's so easy to get into the skirt once you are in the boat. i could probably detach this strap, and i dont think the tension would suffer hugely from removing it, but haven't gone that far yet.overall very happy with this product, and would esp recommend to any new paddlers out there that way to try out spray skirts, without feeling trapped. it fits my eddyline rio perfectly, and has been a nice addition for autumn paddling.

Works as you might expect, and provides tons of coverage for windy and splashy days. I really like the fact that you can push it aside and step in without even having to remove it from the cockpit. Fits my dagger blackwater 12.5 like a glove!

I installed a couple of slat holder brace brackets and a 1.5 inch x 1/4 X ( the width of the opening) of Starboard to add support to the POS foam that is supposed to hold the shape of the splash cover (but doesn't)... this little add on works so well not only to hold it in position but it kills the process of installing ... just snap the starboard into the brace brackets and stretch into place. I built this add- on to give support but it has made the installation so easy it is freaky.I added this little starboard rib mostly to allow my little bride to remove and install it on the water... as she likes to hang her legs over the edge and go all Jimmy Buffet style on a sunny day... however she loves it when the wind gets a puffing or when she uses the wind Paddle sail ( a great product, if my little bride can use it ... so can you as long as you are breathing) she just nestles in and lets the wind do the work while her splash deck does the job of shedding water from waves and paddles... I am not bragging but hell this is such a fantastic grade you will love the easy of installation...I did screw 3 snap screws threw the cheap foam support and into the Starboard rib just to hold it in place and with the thought of adding a snap in cockpit cover...For some reason the pictures I took on my Iphone do not seem to want to land via email on my computer ... if I ever get it to work I will update this review and include them... being owned by Apple sucks.
