My wife wanted me to get these for her classroom. She thought they would be awesome to use for name tags, thought she might hang them off of the desks, but the angle doesn't quite work for that. She thought that this would be perfect for the beginning of the school year when you are still learning students' names so you can see them from every angle. It also would be good for specialist that only see your students occasionally. This set came with a protective film over the plates to make sure they were not scratched, and after removing you are greeted to some heavy duty plastic. The markers and erasers work well on them so far, we are worried about the names being erased with someone bumping them when they walk by or students just rubbing/playing with them. The plastic seems like it could take a beating and last for several years. They would be great for score keeping for review games or table points.
