Bought the gloss and matte finishes. Worked out great! Will get the larger bottles soon. A little goes a long way!

It’s a good quality product, but it gives the same results as modpoge. It won’t give you that high gloss finish like it’s been fired in a kiln. The best thing I’ve found for clay projects is using resin and a UV light. That will give you the kiln fired look.

Mal abgesehen davon, dass der Lack nicht Matt ist, hält er auch nicht. Trotz mehrerer Tage trocknen, löst sich der Lack ab und man kann ihn wie eine Haut vom Ton abziehen. Absolut keine Kaufempfehlung!

Reading the product description- it should’ve worked on air dry clay. It did not. It peeled and took off the paint with it on every piece I had made (around 15 pieces). I have only tried this product with air dry clay.

I have a reasonable amount of experience with clear coats/lacquers. I began in pottery (clay that is dried in a kiln) years ago, segued into thick glassy type top coats like ‘Pour On’ and am always looking for cost effective smart ass alternatives (Podge, Aleene’s, clear nail polish). I loved Pour On but I blended badly a few times and it never cured 😩 and nail polish is ok except for the smell! Sculpd was a pleasant surprise! The photos are from a project where I want a ‘high flake’ under glass top coat look (I saw a car at a car show that looked like a huge sparkle sticker but under wet glass years ago). I found Sculpd to flow very well, it self levels, it has no smell I noticed and it combined with both glitter and mica with no complaint (don’t mix stuff with it on my say so—I am very impulsive + cavalier in my art making choices!).The attached photos are after one coat only.Sculpd is NOT thick like Pour On. It IS thicker than Podge. If you want it to self level I suggest using lots with your item on a rack so the extra can drain off then give it 1-2 days undisturbed for a through and through glassy cure. The progress from self leveling to drying is quick: drying began for me 5-10 minutes after drip leveling.Cost: if you’re doing smaller projects buying this size will probably be fine. If you regularly need high gloss varnish for medium or large sized projects I recommend seeking a wholesale seller of Sculpd.

When I first put this on my play holder handle holder it. Um, thank you. Had some bumps in it, so I went to remove the bumps in it all peeled off. So thing to remember is that it peels off if you make a mistake, it appeals right back off and then you can add it again

I should read how much it cames in the bottle. Thought was bigger so a bit pricey but does the job.

It gives a nice glazed finish to air dry clay pieces. I thought it was food safe when I purchased it but it is not. With that in mind the price seems high but I don't have experience with any other glaze products to compare it too. I do think I could achieve a similar shine with polyurethane for a fraction of the cost, possibly even mod-podge or pva glue.
