I am a Divemaster and own many different lights, both for diving and every day life.I recently purchased this Nitescuba M40 flashlight, and I couldn't be more impressed with its performance. The build quality is outstanding, and it feels incredibly sturdy. The high CRI ensures that underwater flora and creatures are beautifully illuminated with true-to-life colors. The ease of operation is a highlight. Even in murky water or on night dives, switching between modes is a breeze, allowing me to change the light level to suit different conditions. I will say, it would be nice to have a sweep feature instead of the 3 levels & SOS, but as it is, it is very acceptable. The current 6 modes are: 100%, 50%, 25% power, blinking every ~1s, SOS in morse, and strobe. The power button changes colors and is very conveinent to quickly estimate remaining run time. Blue indicates a high charge, green means half and red of course means low power. While I am not a tech diver and did not take the light down to the max rated depth of 330 feet, I have no doubts it would be able to handle it. There are two o-rings and very precisely machined screw threads leaving no wiggle room. The battery life is excellent! 3350 mAh. Combined with the efficient (and bright!) XHP70 led diode, the light will easily run over an hour on full power. The swift charging is awesome as well, it minimizes downtime between dives and ensures I'm always ready for the next dive. I do wish the recharging cable was more compact, but in exchange for the quicker recharging, it's an understandable trade. Another positive of the battery design is that it makes it impossible to accidentally put the battery in reversed (thus preventing any kind of accidental shorting & frying of the light)If you don't have the Goodman handle (also nicely machined and polished), there is a lanyard ring machined directly into the tail of the light providing a very secure area to attach a bungee or paracord lanyard. There is also a nice warranty, two years on any material or manufacturing defects. In addition to the included battery and charger there is also 2 spare o-rings, always a nice touch. As with any dive light using orings, it's best to store the light in the unscrewed state as to not keep the orings compressed. And keep them lubricated with an appropriate amount of grease to prevent drying and cracking. Do this and have no doubt the orings and water resistance will last a very long time.Considering the high quality, simple operation, and the extended battery life, the value of this scuba diving flashlight is unmatched in the market. I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow divers who are looking for a reliable, durable, and high-performing flashlight – this product offers an excellent return on investment, making it a must-have for any diver.lights pictured (left to right) OrcaTorch D580, Diverig Sea60, NiteScuba M40, DiveRite CX2
