I use this for repairs and retrofitting on the fly. It is strong and thin enough to sew onto neoprene.

Needs an additional part or modification to secure the buckle to the belt. Threading it correctly still doesnt seem like enough.

I ordered 5 of these, in black. The webbing that I received was thinner and more pliable than traditional webbing, which I thought was good at first. It made it easier to assemble the belts, weaving it through the buckle and weights.HOWEVER... The divers that wore over 25 lbs. had constant problems with the webbing pulling out of the buckle, from both ends... The tail that weaves through the buckle AND the tail that is meant to hold and release. We were free diving so it was more of an annoyance. If we were SCUBA diving, it could have been a VERY dangerous situation.

Was scared to get a plastic clip in the front but it works SO WELL! I have 6 pounds max on the belt and it works like a dream.

Love these as regular belts, because they go through airport screening without trouble. The webbing is very thick and doesn't fold upon itself like thinner webbing. Many might think 60" sufficient length, but a few more inches would help because so much is consumed securing the buckle. I've found aluminum "Chicago screws" work very well to hold the webbing in place. Torch the ends and the screw hole. Maybe more work than should be necessary, but worth it for the perfect belt. Almost perfect anyway, because 2" is a little too large for some belt loops.

Fits (VERY snugly) into the loops on the Scuba Choice waterproof cases, so great for keeping your valuables (car keys, iPhone, credit card/driver's license) safe and dry while snorkeling. Also handy for being able to attach a bungee cord with carabineers for holding sandals while you snorkel (for sites with rocky entrances).I would have liked the buckle to be sewn in from the manufacturer. I imagine it's probably sufficient to just loop enough webbing through that friction/physics will hold it all together, but I felt better sewing the strap ends around the buckle loop, which was a bit tough to do by hand with just a needle and industrial strength thread - the material is tough. Maybe people using this to add dive weights have some reason to prefer the buckle not be sewn in? I found the clasp to be strong enough, and easy to adjust underwater.Anyway, it did what I needed it to.
