I had been buying cheap, think plastic sheets with various screw and drill widths on them. Inevitably, they crack or slide behind something. This products is sturdy and works very well. A must for your workbench.

This thing is very handy, and makes identifying bolt sizes a breeze. I was concerned that since it's made of plastic that the bolt holes might wear away. But the plastic is good quality and even with rough use is showing no signs of wear and still gives accurate results. This is one of those things I didn't know I needed until I had it. Now it's hanging on my workbench pegboard for quick access.

I didn't like how odd the measuring system was to start with but I can appreciate the convenience. I wish some sort of actual tutorial card came with instead of just a link to a video. Since I use this for home use it's fine but I imagine when working on a job it's less convenient.Once you get the hang of it, it's helpful... Until you remember that not all screws are the exact same length despite being the same size on the box. (Not the products fault, just something I noticed.) So leave some room for error.

I keep this readily available on my tool box to identify sizes on Metric and SAE. Having worked with the U.S. standard for many years, I could pretty much eyeball them, but Metric was giving me a challenge. This gauge levels the playing field.

This will save you a lot of time, especially if your bolt and screw bucket gets infected with some metric junk which sometimes looks an awful lot like normal sizes. Great for keeping grandkids and neighbor kids occupied and out of trouble, so get three or four. One for the boat, one for the shop, one for work if you have one of those "job" things.

I wanted to like this because of its compact size, clear text, and range of sizes. But! The thread pitch is very slightly raised on the back and all but impossible to tell in comparison to your bolt. The side-by-side style has its uses but not when made from plastic and barely present. Can’t really do what you buy it for (unless that’s just sorting by diameter, and maybe length, alone. Pitch is useless unfortunately.
