I cut it in half for my under dash am/fm stereo and drilled a hole in each side to attach it to the unit.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received this mount. I worried it would be flimsy or not fit but it is of fairly stiff plastic construction, holds its shape. The front opening to insert the radio is precisely manufactured. It fit perfectly, snapped into place. I would definitely recommend.

I used this to install a stereo in our Holiday Rambler camper trailer. I painted it up to match and installed the marine stereo that I had also ordered for it. A tight fit but it looks like it belongs there now. By tight fit, I mean behind the radio. All of the wires and plugs in the back of the radio come fairly close to the back of the casing. The inset for the radio face makes it look much more like a professional install as well. I couldn't be happier with it.

I have a 1978 Mini that does not have any provisions for mounting a radio so I purchased this mount and the "Metra 99-9000 Dash Kit For Uni Under Dash Full Shroud" from Amazon. They were both well made but I ended up selecting the Schosche kit for the final install. The Schosche kit looked a bit nicer with rounded corners and it fit my application slightly better as well. It went together very easily and I am super happy with it.
