This is a hand sander block that fits nicely in the hand, is easy to change paper.

So much better than what I have been using for years (a wooden block). The handle that holds the sandpaper is made of a firm but yelding closed cell foam. It is ergonomic becuase it fits the hand and allows a non fatiguing grip, so you can sand with more accuracy for a longer time. The different sandpaper grits it comes with will cover most of ones sanding needs and grips the handle securely. I am very happy with it.

Very Nice Sanding System The kit is well made with a sturdy sanding pad with an attached handle. It works well because it is so easy to remove one grit of sandpaper and replace it with another. The system uses Velcro-like hooks and loops to attach the sanding surface to the handle. It comes with multiple grit sanding pads. The pads have stood up well when used. I have used many different types of sanding blocks, the vast majority of which use regular sandpaper that can be cut to size from larger sheets. These systems take a little more time to cut the sandpaper and install it, however, the extra time is offset by the very low cost of each sheet of sandpaper. I'm taking one star off out of concern for the availability and potential cost of replacement sanding pads. Using a Velcro-like attachment system is nice but the long term costs maay not be worth the small extra convenience. A nice product but to be honest, I doubt I will use it once the original set of sanding sheets are used up.

The worst part about sanding something down is the damage it does to your hands. I often find my cuticles, finger pads, knuckles, etc. scraped and rough after using sheets of sandpaper, even for small projects like the cornhole we finished the other day. This tool makes it so much easier to sand because the grip is excellent and your fingers are no longer in danger of being sanded down themselves. The grip is like a dense foam, easy to grab and comfortable, ergonomic to your hand. It's so much easier to sand with this, and I like that you can vacuum out the particulate to make the paper last longer. The variety of grits in the package make it easy to complete a project; I just wish it could utilize all sandpaper and not just the special pads that come with it.

The Scorch Marker hand sander arrived nicely sealed in a plastic bag. Each type of sand paper grit came in its own plastic bag, so 5 different grits (80, 120, 240, 320, and 600) with 3 pieces each. The yellow sanding pad uses hook & loop to attach the sanding mesh sheets. The pad is ~2 3/4” wide by ~4 7/8” long and the included sanding mesh sheets fit just about perfectly on the pad. The yellow pad appears to be made from a very firm foam, which gives just a little, but is fairly solid.The sanding mesh attaches firmly to the pad and stayed on during sanding. Sanding mesh is much stronger than paper-backed sandpaper, so it should hold up well for a while. The pad has pretty good ergonomics for use and the design is very similar to other sanding pads that I’ve used before.I was a little interested if this was made in the USA, since the packaging and sanding products didn’t say anything about where it’s made. Therefore, I checked out the Scorch Marker website and discovered this statement, “Our sanding kit is manufactured by a small company in Taiwan.”
