At times my 90 horse tractor is super hard to start, and this thing handles it! Made life way easier all winter so far. Definitely not sorry I purchased. Almost wish I had another one just like it for the other farm. If you've got something hard to start, unless your battery is completely junk, this is what you need, trust me!

Works great. Wished they would add an led to see so you know its finished charging and off. The gauge on the front shows the same no matter what amperage I chose. I can't tell if its really charging at what rate. It has done a very good job chadving my battery so it does work

Bought this is January 24. Went to use it this January, rolled it to the vehicle and plugged it in. Needed to move it a little closer to connect cables, and sparks shot out the vents as a short took place. This case is very hard to remove, to get access to the inside. What I saw was a hot wire terminal had fallen off the connection point and fallen against the case, which created the grounding. I was able to reconnect the wire- but the unit is dead, so the short damaged something in the circuitry. That means the repair may be more expensive than replacing the unit. It's just days out of warranty, past return limits. This was a replacement for a previous Schumaker charger that had worked for over 30 years, that had a timer switch quit working. I gave that to a friend who replaced the timer- and it still works.Companies often decide to cuts costs to keep prices low and profits coming. The terminals involved here were surprisingly poor, not typical at all- and I think the unit failure is due to nothing more than going cheap to save pennies, at the cost of quality and reliability .... And, of reputation. A good brand is worth a lot, provided it represents quality products. In my view, it no longer does.NEW INFO- and sadly worse, which is why my original 3-star rating is now a 1-star.Given I had no warranty, I looked into the costs of service- which are about the same as the cost of the machine. So, I decided to open it up and see if I could do my own repair. As I have been in the manufacturing business for many years, designed and built dozens of products, I'm not an average DIY guy.So...First step, open the case- and that immediately made matters worse. Not only is it difficult; there are parts that are held in place by friction alone; no fasteners. The ammeter and lens is one of them, they just push into a hole. The cord to the ammeter is not connected except by passing through a loop, which is fine except the cord isn't supported either, so the meter and lens immediately fell out, but access to replace them is poor.Overall, I found the inner construction to be as cheap as possible. Every corner cut. While it may work fine out of the box, the idea that it will last for years is no longer realistic. The quality it takes to ensure that durability is just not there.I hate to see a brand name that has meant quality for decades prostituted for profit, by gutting the quality out of the product and riding the brand loyalty- and I think that is what has happened here. Schumacher dominates the market for these things, but now, they are actually China-made. What's more, they now make chargers for other brand names, simply by making minor changes in the cosmetics of the case, so that if you buy a similar competing product- most likely you are still buying theirs, and getting the same compromised designs, materials and workmanship. The saddest part is that with a few exceptions, the cost of building in durability is not that much, they sold their good name very cheap.

It works great but I would have preferred a charger with a 100% complete charge on it.Percentages, amps, and voltage??All good no complaints

This Schumacher SC1445 is a lifesaver for those unexpected dead battery moments. It's compact and easy to store, but don't let its size fool you – this thing has some serious jump-starting power. The 250 cranking amps easily handled my truck's battery on a recent frigid morning. I also appreciate the built-in timer for trickle charging, which is a nice added feature.

I'm so sick and tired of all these "Automatic" battery chargers, that refuse to recognize a dead or low voltage battery. My old Napa box finally died after about 25 years .. probably just a loose wire, but even the new Napa transformer box comes as a kit, with too much plastic. And I gotta admit, I had a bunch of different Schumacher's over the years, that have largely proven to be unsatisfactory for various reasons over the long term, so I was understandably skeptical about this offering. So I think that maybe Schumacher pulled an old-timey engineer out of retirement, and tasked him/her with designing a legacy design transformer box, for the 2020's. Kudos to whoever that was.So with the plethora of de-sulfurization videos online, I thought, what the hey, will this box work for that? Well, on the 200 amp boost setting, it puts out about 19.5 volts .. probably a bit more if you're not 200' from your mains. So far, it looks very promising. Unfiltered full-wave D.C. may be the ticket. In any event, I'm so impressed with this compact modern transformer box, that I bought a second one, for a second location. Open the box at the bottom, and the completely assembled unit will slip out, standing up, and did I mention completely assembled, ready to work! Five Stars!

The only reason I gave this product a 4 is because the first one failed to operate at all. The replacement uint works great so far.

I bought this charger to have at my house for multiple types of cars if needed. When buying a charger I needed something that would also charge and jump start my 7.3L Diesel. I've used this a couple of times on my truck and it's jumped it no problem. I've also used this on a 10 year old battery and was able to get it charged enough to start the car. The price might seem a little high but it's been worth what I spent.

Hopefully will work few winters, do job exactly how charger need to do.Dead battery becomes alive and that’s all matter on -35c .Work great with single or multi battery vehicle (semi)Manual charger is what all of us need.Definitely worth to buy.One thing missing, switch where battery can be charged longer then 135min.When you charge 4 batteries with 1000amp each with only 10 amp/hour you need longer period then 2 hours so that’s need to be add on charger.
