The box arrived open, but everything was still there and nothing was damaged. The Schluter waterproofing fabric is much easier to work with than the cheaper Vevor fabric.

This product was ultimately purchased twice. Through no fault of the product but the installer and she was fired. Second contractor ripped it all out and installed the second kit purchased. We are thrilled with how easy the installation was and protects the subfloor and walls!

Surface has near flat gradient except near the drain center. . When using a honeycomb style tile, water gets stuck in the center ring of each tile. I'm doomed to using a squeegee on this floor. I would have rather spent the extra time (and spent much less money) with a mortar base so I could control the gradient angle.

Schluter makes great products and this shower pan is just one more. Easy and flexible to install ( just make sure you use the schluter cement with it).

This totally changes the game for tiled shower pans. I am a contractor and do a good bit of bathrooms but always try to avoid having the client shift over to a shower pan because I don’t trust the old system and it’s so frustrating to do. This eliminates most of the frustration. Some important notes,The corner joints will be layered with three layers of Kerdi in some places so make sure you get your joints tight (ie. No more thinset behind the Kerdi than absolutely necessary)There is a couple depressions that need to get built up at the drain and I found it helpful to do this before tiling so that my pan was as close to its final slope when I went to tile (I also smoothed out the corners always with the consideration that it’s better to leave more material on the corners and less towards the drain or your water pools). Remember your pan will be small mosaic-like tiles which are nearly impossible to plane—the surface you have is the surface you get.My one complaint (and maybe it’s due to ignorance???) about the process is setting the final drain tie in piece (sold separately). The final trim drain piece is adjustable which makes setting the tile layout easier in the shower—you can move the 4x4 grill almost a 1/2” in both directions so it fits perfectly in the design). However, the depression this piece sets into is far too dramatic and In order to bring the drain grate up to the height you need it you must stretch the thinset beyond it’s real capabilities in terms of thickness. The Kerdi grate I got (again sold separately) was so stiff that I had to remove the assembly and shave the little plastic tabs to make it so the grate would slide remotely easily within the sleeve. If you’re new to this, expect to spend a good deal of time getting your grill to plane correctly and all the thinset out of the mosaic joints.Edit—seat bottom plastic rim basically tight against Kerdi pan (with thinset under it of course). Clipping the tabs so grate slides down a little easier still makes job easier.Best tape to keep drain protected is clear packing tape. Lay some on top of drain to cover completely and flip drain over to cut away all excess with sharp knife—remove after grout.Side not; use packing tape to cut mosaics so the smaller pieces stay where they are supposed to and don’t fall from mosaic and kill you later when you’re cursing yourself setting those little pieces individually. Additionally I use a “blow out” tile like I would use on a miter saw—set a larger tile in your sled that is bigger than the mosaic youre cutting. Do one pass 1/8” roughly into tile. Leave saw at this depth and the tile in the same place. This will be your new “sled”. This will both give you the exact cut line of the path of the saw and prevent the mosaic from fragmenting. This combined with the packing tape makes the install MUCH easier. Make sure to pull the packing tape off when the thinset has fully set so you don’t pull up any small tiles when you remove it!

Perfect system when setting up a new shower and nice peace of mind knowing that if you use this product the way you’re supposed to you’re not gonna have any leakage issues. We did have to buy extra tape because we used an alcove but other than that it was
