The Loki does a great job of bringing out areas that need opening up. Pretty transparent other than a noticeable volume increase when engaged vs pass-through. Fiddling with the band knobs, you can open up the soundstage on old Motown. I run it flat, mostly.

Unit arrived DOA, but exchange was painless and fast. Unit performs great! My amp is very accurate, and Loki "warms" the sound at low to middle volumes. Bypass at high volumes is a simple toggle switch. Highly recommended!

Loki Mini+ transforms your system without getting in the way, or making itself known. Forget noisy, bad-sounding equalizers you may have used in the past. Loki Mini+ uses a single, discrete, current-feedback gain stage, coupled to passive LC filters for 3 bands, plus a gyrator for the bass. It also uses sealed Alps potentiometers with rational adjustment ranges to allow for fine control. Coupled with a 100% passive bypass setting, Loki Mini+ offers the transparency and flexibility you need.Très satisfait idéal pour améliorer la qualité du son de certains enregistrements , compenser pour la perte auditive en modifiant certaines fréquences, Corriger le son en fonction de l’acoustique de la pièce, un appareil indispensable pour tout bon système de son hi fi,

Instead of purchasing a new $1880 amp, I kept my good old Onkyo and bought this $188 unit. I have much clearer channel separation and deeper control of treble and bass frequencies with this unit. 10-fold better value!

The Good:• I find the low Q, wide bands of this equalizer blend adjustments far more easily and naturally than trying to guess at more numerous, narrow band, high Q frequencies. It’s just smoother absent the disjointed adjustments that can occur from one narrow, high Q band to the next.• The price is quite reasonable. Positively reviewed by The Absolute Sound though I would have thought they would have rejected reviewing it based solely on price. How can anything be “high end” for $149?The Bad• This unit has the bulkiest power supply, of any of my equipment and it hogs a power strip. Absent a direct USB power connection, couldn’t the supply size for such a low power device be reduced? The Schitty• The power switch is located on the back which in my case makes it unreachable. It’s the same switch as on the front for in/out. The same, tiny switch really can’t be made to fit in front as well?ConclusionThe wide bands, price and compact size (A/C adapter notwithstanding) made it a good choice for me. But it’d be a better product had they tweaked these two things.

I've been into hifi since the mid sixties and my first headphone was the Koss pro4/aa in the seventies. I have purchased a whole lot of equipment throughout the years and i can honestly say that this little tool is the best thing to ever happen for headphones. My current setup consists of Fostex th900 mk2 ,original v-moda m 100,1 more triple driver over ear phones with ifi black label dac/headphone amp and mainly listening to tidal from my laptop. It produces magnificent sound. You can custom tailor the sound, adjust anything. It turns the fostex into an absolute beast, actually can tighten up the bass and make it more powerful. It slams hard now. Any bass heads will want this for sure. Its also great with the 1 more triple driver, but the best combo was with the v-moda m100. It turns them into one of the all time great pairings. It produces no distortion or signal loss and opens up any headphone. Everything is much bigger and more powerful. It really is the best thing for headphones. Once you hook this up you will never go back. I also hooked the loki to a very old smsl headphone amp and while it sounded great, it was not as great as the pairing with the ifi black label. If anybody has an ifi amp with the 3d excite swith on it you definitely want this. It takes you to a different world. I truly believe i am more impressed with this device than any audio device that i have ever heard. This is my first Schiit product although i have been following them a long time so next time i need something i will surely at them first .Great job Schiit

I added a small amp to my PC to drive a pair of bookshelf speakers and 12" powered subwoofer, but needed a effective way to control the amount bass. Without this EQ, the bass was heavy. After adding it, I was able to soften the subwoofer and tune the treble. Everything sounds just the way I like it now.My only complaint is the power toggle is located on the back which is difficult to reach in my setup.

At first this seemed exactly what I needed. Allowing me to increase low end and lessen high end. Making my vinyl sound better. After a few weeks or so, now a hum has entered and will not go away. I tried on 2 other systems still the hum. Will be seeing about refund. Disappointing to say the least.

This EQ unit gave us the ability to adjust the sound from our TV to the stereo to add a little treble to our overly warm speakers. The sound quality is fantastic; there's no discernible noise or hiss even if I crank up the amp and search for it. Made in the US is a nice aspect as well. However, even when you aren't using this little equalizer, it radiates heat constantly. Even when the source and the amp are off, this thing is hot. This seems like a big down side. The only way to stop it from cranking out heat is to turn the power off. But, the power switch is on the back. What a pain in the butt. I don't want to have to climb around behind this stupid thing every time I turn the TV on or off, to flip a switch. And, I equally do not want to leave it on cranking out heat 24/7. This is totally unacceptable. It doesn't go to sleep, it doesn't have a standby mode with lower power consumption, you can't reach the power switch, and it doesn't have a 12V trigger input for having the amp or the TV turn it on and off. I regret buying it, but I don't see any great alternatives so I'll keep this stupid thing and cross my fingers that it doesn't cause a fire while we're away at work.
