When I ordered this, I thought I was ordering the original Strap-Lock model, but as it turns out, this one is greatly improved. The screws that go into the guitar body are 3mm hex screws which was a little unexpected, but they are beefy, so not likely to break. The clamping nut to lock these to your strap is basically a thumb screw, and you can tighten it down by hand very easily. If you want to torque it down tighter, (which really isn't necessary), they provide an offset hole to insert a 2mm Allen wrench to do so.The real bonus with this model, it there is no rattle like I had with the original model! Dead quiet. I'll be installing these on all of my most valuable guitars.

Beautiful gold to match my Gretsch hollowbody hardware. Easy installation and lock clicks in nice and secure with no rattle. I trust these because the original vintage-style Gretsch strap locks are not trustworthy because they came unscrewed from the guitar body.

The sound of a prized guitar hitting the floor is the sound of dread itself. Is the paint marred? Is the body cracked? Is the headstock okay? Are the tuners busted? If you’ve ever had a strap come loose, then you know factory strap buttons aren’t to be trusted.Schaller strap locks are reliable and secure. I’ve installed them on all my guitars for almost two decades and have never had one fail or unlock unexpectedly. They look great. are sturdy, they are simple to install and easy to lock/unlock one handed. Best of all, I haven’t a strap come loose in years.

Schaller strap locks are made very well. What I like about them is they last a long time and they keep your strap secure to your instrument. The color is nice as well. These are well made and far better than the cheap ones found from other companies on this website. The price is also reasonable. They were easy to install, but it requires an Allen wrench. NOT included. So 4 stars on that. I like that the screw and lock are one mechanism. Unlike what other people do.

I’ve used Schiller strap locks for 20 years. It’s been a while since I’ve bought a set because they’re so well built and durable! I recently purchased several new guitar straps, and I needed locks for them and knew exactly which brand to buy! I received them quickly with no issues. Schaller has made some improvements to their design since I last bought a set, and I’m extremely pleased! Very high quality, great design, durable, easy to install, works great every time! Don’t waste your time or money on cheaply built poor quality imitation strap locks. These are the real deal and well worth the cost!

These are by far the best strap locks. I've tried other methods. I've tried less expensive brands. I'm all about saving a couple bucks but it's not worth it here. The fit and function of these strap locks is perfect. Easy. Smooth. They feel and look like high quality. This is not the area you should be chinsing on. Other strap locks I've tried have locked up. Difficult to use. The plunger has gotten stuck making the strap lock useless. I've been using this brand for over 40 years. It kind of hurts to say that lol. These are the best. Don't go through the heartache I did. Just buy these. The pain of spending a couple extra bucks disappears quickly and enjoying the quality lasts a lifetime. This is definitely a case of you get what you pay for.

First I have schaller’s on all but one of my guitar’s. And that one has a jack in the end pin so…The old ones are a bear to get through thick leather straps. I have back problems so I use leather straps because I like them and padded because I need it. Most of my straps are Levy’s including the one I just purchased for my new bass that the strap locks are going on. They are well made so yes the leather is thick. These new S Locks are much longer in the neck and have finally figured out a way to get rid of the bolt and washer. Understand that system works but you have to put loctite on the threads and check them from time to time. This new system is very well thought out and very well engineered. You will likely hear people complaining about the hex head being used instead of a Phillips. That was a brilliant engineering decision. With the amount of torque necessary to drive that screw down I would almost guarantee that anything but a hex screw would strip out.Price. Yeah they are very pricey for what they are but not for what they protect.Look if you or your kid has a $100 electric these would be like putting a Bose sound system in a yugo. But if you’ve paid several hundreds of dollars of hard earned money or if it’s a very special guitar to you buy them they will never let you down.

This is the best straplock system in existence. It's easy to install, safe and looks great. Has no sharp edges or uncomfortable shapes.I've installed Schaller straplocks on almost all my guitars since forever and have always been happy with them. Recently I bought a Fender American Professional Stratocaster and the store threw in a set of Fender straplocks that are a copy of the previous Schaller model at no cost. They are crap. Hard to pull in and out, they keep getting loose from the strap. They look exactly like the previous Schaller model that I bought for all of my guitars up til 10 years ago (didn't buy any other guitar til now). They might look the part but they aren't the same product. So I got them off and upgraded to the real thing, yo my surprise Schaller has upgraded their set, and the upgrades are great, they are now easier to install and with even better shape so nothing will damage your guitar. Functionality is great as always. I don't thing I've ever had to use lubricant or sealer on a Schaller straplock system, withy the other thing I had to use some wd-40 in a week because it was stuck and you just couldn't take the strap off the guitar, and then it all started falling apart and I had to use some sealer on some parts (that didn't get wd-40'ed). This is a great product very well worth the price.
