Price jumped up $96 overnight? A cast iron stock crankshaft for a 35+ year old engine pushing $300? Yeaaaah, no.

I had this item shipped to my machinist / engine builder brother who called to tell me how favorably impressed he is with the quality he sees in it. If there was anything to be critical of he would find it and share that info. I certainly trust his judgement. Still consider this a good value for the appropriate application.Unexpected development: I just got word from my machinist brother. The harmonic balancer would not go on the snout of the shaft due to the shaft being a few thousandths too big. This measurement was in comparison to a number of equivalent parts in his inventory. Fortunately he will be able to make the adjustment.Otherwise a pretty nice part.

Shipped fast. Good strong crank for the price. Called a scat rep and was told this crank could handle 7200 rpm. I suppose if you kept your hp in the 550 range have good machine/balancing with splayed caps and low bob weight you easily achieve 7500. Keep in mind cast cranks will never be able to stretch as much as forged ones will
