This is a tough cleaner. It does have a little bit of a commercial scent but it is all about just getting the job done. It doesn't have flowery small or marketing. At over $8 a bottle this isn't an inexpensive product but it works really well so it is worth the price.Overall, I'm happy with the "SC Johnson Professional Ready-To-Use Carpet Spotter, Carpet Stain Remover, 32 fl. oz., 6 Count, for Professional Use Only".

This carpet cleaner works great! I spilled a milkshake on my carpet but after using this cleaner and scrubbing with paper towels there was no stain or smell (even on white carpet). I would highly recommend this to anyone.

As a former manager of a structure drying & restoration company, I can tell you that when this stuff says "professional", they mean it. It's chemically more aggressive than most homeowner-type cleaners. So a bit more caution is in order (mainly, keep it away from food/drinks), and it will leave an odor that's not really offputting, but definitely stronger than most typical household cleaners. This is an excellent general purpose spot cleaner, but it's especially good at oil/grease based spots.

I was surprised by how well this worked. I’m particularly glad because the case of 6 bottles ought to last a very long time. I walk every morning and it was a little damp outside, and while I usually take my shoes off at the door, for a reason I shouldn’t have forgotten (to keep it from happening again), I tracked some mud in from my walk. Fortunately, I had already stashed the spray bottle under the sink anticipating a use, not thinking I would be the culprit (which I own wholly…here). I took out the hand vac and got as much as I could, but of course there was mud detritus left beneath. I sprayed, rubbed around with a damp cloth, vacuumed and it was all gone. Today, in order to give a full review I found a stain (stains are not that hard to find in a house that has been lived in) in the bedroom of some kind of cream or another that hadn’t been sopped up by the person (who absolutely wasn’t me) who glooped it (probably because gloopage can be invisible) I sprayed, wiped as best as I could, and the damage disappeared. This gives me hope for the future of the world.I doubt seriously this will work on a coffee spill that has been neglected for a month. Fortunately for all, I have no way of testing this at home, but to have something that will pick up a fresh stain, and deal effectively with something that hasn’t fully set is a great asset for the assaults on a carpet that come from living on top of it.

This SC Johnson Professional Ready-To-Use Carpet Spotter 32oz, case of 6 does what it says it does.I had some old stains on my carpet and decided to give this a try. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much of the stain this stuff removed.This is a strong cleaner. Wear gloves, rinse thoroughly, and try not to use near food or surfaces where you prepare food.Also worked great on my kitchen floor!Five stars.

This is a heavy-duty professional cleaner. I know it says it's for use on carpets, but you can use it on most things. (Just not anywhere that comes into contact with food or is close to food, you do not want to ingest this stuff.) Make sure not to get this on your skin, and keep kids and pets away from it. It's specifically good for removing oil/grease and paint but will clean pretty much anything. It smells strongly of chemicals. If you've ever smelled a public bathroom right after it was cleaned, you know what this smells like.

Just a couple of days after receiving this, I somehow managed to drop half an English muffin covered in egg mayonnaise face down on my rug. I was horrified and subsequently extremely relieved when this carpet spotter completely removed the orangey-yellow, greasy stain that was left behind.After immediately spraying a generous amount of this carpet cleaner on the stain and vigorously wiping it off 15 minutes later, it removed the stain to the point where it’s undetectable, despite my rug being a very light ivory shade and made of 100% wool.

This cleaner/degreaser is based, according to its safety data sheet, on Tripropylene Glycol Methyl Ether, Sodium thiosulphate, and Sodium xylene sulfonate. It is quite effective at lifting dirt and grease, and it is easy to remove from surfaces (no soapy/sticky feel after cleaning)Do not be confused by the carper cleaner label, this product is a good general use cleaner. Just do not use it on table surfaces or anywhere near food.The product is generally safe to use, but it is a mild eye irritant (Category 2B), so keep it away from face and from pets.The product leaves not overwhelming, but strong smell that is hard to describe. A combination of ocean/marine odors plus chemicals plus "just cleaned public restroom" fragrance. You can tell from its smell that it is a commercial grade product.
