It arrived several days early :-) it had two minor areas of damage that we were able to repair. I did re-paint it to match another piece I already owned, which helped to camouflage the repairs. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality and craftsmanship.

I wanted a piece of furniture that looked like it came from my great-grandmother's cottage and it does! It is sturdy, all wood and well made. It isn't stapled together, it seems to be glued but they did an excellent job. The outside shipping box had some minor wear and tear but they wrapped the two pieces in bubble wrap and there was no damage to the wood. It had a woody oil smell which I liked, but it has pretty much dissipated (I have had it about a week). The tin insets in the door are lovely and look like the photo, and the distressing of paint is perfect. It holds more than I thought it would yet doesn't take up a lot of space. It is exactly what I wanted. My only criticism, and I would have given 4.5 stars if I could have for this. If you want a hutch (like I did) instead of two separate pieces then here's the issue: there are no pre-drilled holes or markings for holes on either piece (top or bottom). Which would be a problem for someone with out a drill or skills. Without fastening the top to the bottom you could risk the top falling over.My son, who put it together for me, had to measure and drill the holes for the screws (which do come with the hutch). He put it together in less than an hour and a half, it took this long because I had to go to the hardware store and buy a ratchet screwdriver - which you NEED to attach the top to the bottom. You need a horizontal ratchet screwdriver because the shelves are bolted onto the back of the hutch, therefore not adjustable and don't leave enough clearance to use a drill with a Philips bit to drill in the screws. Not a challenging task to put together but I couldn't have done it by myself.Other than the above it was a great buy, and if you can't find one in an antique store or thrift shop (I couldn't) then you should consider buying this hutch, worth the money.
