For years, my wife made fun of me for how much time I spent picking out new shoes—sometimes taking longer to decide on a pair than I did on a house or a car. She wasn’t wrong. But ever since I found the Saucony Men's Excursion TR14 Trail Running Shoe, that struggle is over.I’m not a serious athlete, but I enjoy casual sports and walking, and these shoes have been perfect for both. They’re comfortable, durable, and provide great support. Now, when it’s time for a new pair, I don’t waste weeks searching—I just re-order these (usually in a different color) and move on to more important things. If you're looking for a reliable, no-fuss shoe, this is it!

An excellent pair of sneakers: sturdy, comfortable, good looking and the fit is great. Add the bargain price and you got yourself a hell of a deal.

Edit: This is called a trail shoe, that may be the thing that it does least well. If you are on rocky surfaces (talus or screed especially) the sole is not nearly stiff enough. You feel every rock. It is still an excellent shoe which is fine for good trails or on flat surfaces. But, not well suited for rough trails. I have had other similar trail shoes which were much more comfortable on bad trails.I suspect Saucony uses the same last on all their size 9.5 shoes. They are a very predictable fit. The shoes are comfortable and they durable. Price is very good for a high quality shoe of a similar type. I have had at least 10 pairs of Saunconys and all have been good shoes at a reasonable price.

Overall quite satisfied with this product. I was looking for a light weight hiking trail sneaker for warmer weather and possible for some trail running. These fit the bill. They are lighter than a low cut hiking shoe which I explored side by side with these and better suited for my purpose.Materials/Design - I was impressed with the materials and you can see there was some thought into the design. The upper lacing holes are actually loops of cord that run down to the heal - not just at the top of the lace area. So they pull from the heal and provide good heal support. You can see them through a mesh material that is different and more rugged than the overall shoe upper mesh. Breathability is good overall. The Versafoam is comfortable but also supportive for a trail sneaker. Not as cushioned as my Brooks Glycerin ($160) which are highly cushioned for road running but just right for the trail. Finally, the sole design was very good for the trail - lots of grip notches.Fit - I wear a size 12 and these just fit. A 1/2 size larger might have also worked and allowed for heavier sock, but again these just fit and I am OK with the size. With free returns I would suggest you order your normal size and the half size larger if available just to test fit. At first I thought the toe cup would be a little tight but after a short while walking, they seemed to loosen up a bit. I did notice the heal to toe drop angle was much less than my road running sneakers - interestingly I felt it in my knees almost immediately. Again, my body adjusted to it in a short amount of time. I might pick up a heal insert but this is only due to my running habits. Arch support was adequate but again my personal preference is a bit longer (back to front ) arch.On my first outing I wore these for a long day on trail and street and into the evening with no effects the next day. I would purchase again. For $40 - $50 you can't go wrong.

I really like this brand line of Saucony shoes. I had the tr13 that I bought in the Fall of 2019. About a year later, I thought that I would buy them again since they were wearing thin.I couldn't find any tr13 in size but I took a chance with the tr14 without being able to try on. Turns out to be basically the same shoe with a slightly different appearance design. Fits and feels the same. I don't notice any structural changes. I bought the black/charcoal color for both, this can only comment on this color.I really use these just for walking mainly on sidewalk. But I sometimes walk on dirt, sand, or grass. These have good traction on all types of surfaces. The weight feels like midweight thus not sure how good this would be for running on a track, but probably good for the trails.I have worn the tr14s now for a few weeks and have no problems to report. My tr13s lasted me for a year and I could have gotten a little bit more out of them. And I walk maybe 3-4 miles on average daily.Comfortable shoe whether walking or standing. Very durable and long lasting. High recommend. Maybe not the flashy looking shoe, but a good dependable shoe. This is my fourth pair of Saucony shoes that I have purchased Inna row firmly everyday use shoes. So far I have liked them all but the Excursion line is my favorite.
