About this item

  • An intuitive and flexible Carbitex AFX3-quarter carbon-fiber plate gives you speed and efficiency without losing touch with the terrain beneath you.
  • With both higher absorption and faster evaporation, the lightweight mesh on the Endorphin Edge actively pulls moisture away from your foot, keeping you cool and dry.
  • With a distance-friendly 6mm last, grippy PWRTRAC outsole, and deconstructed bootie fit, you have everything you need to go far and go fast.

Built on a proven formula for speed, the Endorphin Edge trail runner is the performance advantage you’ve been waiting for. With a specialized carbon-fiber plate for incredible ground feel, it’s propulsive, protective, and incredibly efficient—so you don’t have to stop running until you want to stop running.

I walk to the track and run to avoid the hazards associated with running on the streets and sidewalks as seams, cracks and misjudged curbs can lead to knee surgery. These are perfect for that purpose. I can't attest to their efficacy as trail running shoes. I planned to save them formy trips to the track, but find myself addicted to their comfort and putting them on for navigating all my daily activities. They are very light and comfortable lacking that thick insole made of memory foam so often put in shoes that actually interfere with natural movement leading to discomfort.

These are perfect for speedy workouts and long runs on snowy dirt roads in New England during the long, long winter here. They're like Endorphin speeds with trail lugs. I add Kahtoola EXOspikes when the conditions are really bad. They are also wide-foot friendly -- my 2E feet are comfortable due to the roomy forefoot and toe box. A great deal.

Wholp, wholp, wholp is the name of that tune. Not going to sneak up on anyone with these unique shoes. I use them out walking the doggo while I wear earbuds. The music in my head covers up the goofy sound on the sidewalk, and my companion's singing. Performance is exceptional otherwise, very comfy, great support, light weight, and not too crazy weird looking (grey, black with copper gold Saucony swoosh). I recommend them only with ear buds or head phones or only out on an unpaved gravel or rock trail (as they're designed). These beasts are not fully domesticated.

The foam in this shoe is so brittle, especially for a trail shoe. It seriously feels like the old white foam block they use for packaging. I have multiple chunks taken out after only a few runs with these and they are only a month old. Very comfortable a light, but they did last a month. Worst, most unreliable pair of shoes I have ever purchased. Now the tread is peeling away from this crappy foam. 4 months old.

First off, these are REALLY easy to roll. That's perceptible just in your home. Put them on, use your glut meds to push your legs outward, and you'll feel these wanting to roll, or actually rolling, immediately. I compared them side-by-side to all my other running shoes (mostly Hoka, road and trail) and they were all FAR more stable in that simple test.If you have narrow feet you may have trouble with these. I wear men's size 13 and normally that means to most shoe companies that you are a gargantuan human with not only long feet but brick-shaped. My feet are fairly narrow. Most salcony size 13s are way too big in volume and these are no exception. In order to get these to not have significant slop I have to put an arch support insole in on top of the existing insole. For reference for just about every other shoe brand when they are a bit sloppy all I need to do is replace the existing insole with an arch supported sole. I thought that might be limited to my size but I bought a pair of these for my daughter who wears women's 10 and it is the exact same problem. In practical terms that means that the shoe is too sloppy to use on technical trails. The narrow stance and bouncy and rolly ride exacerbates that feeling. So that means it is relegated to smoother fire roads and crushed rock or other Forest paths. On those surfaces I am normally completely comfortable in a regular road shoe and if racing on one you'd be fine with something like an endorphin pro 4 or a Nike vapor fly.Maybe there is a perfect in between course for this shoe and at the discounted prices below $100 perhaps that's worth it.Let's address misconceptions about the technology. Carbon plates don't really make you any faster. The research shows it is a 1% boost at best. The shoe companies that jumped on the super shoe bandwagon by inserting carbon fiber plates while using their same old Eva foams did not see much speed return for their athletes. That is why they all finally switched to some form of pebax for their high performance shoes. It is also why the world athletic associations placed a maximum stack height rule on these shoes. The foam is the spring. What these plates CAN do is stabilize the extreme squishiness you get from the high stack heights and squishy pebax foam in a shoe like this. They also keep the shoes stiff so the forward action of your foot roll feels like a propulsive push off in your heel. That's stiffness is not always welcome however. The durability concerns shown in many of these other reviews have me wondering if this shoe is even worth the 70 or $80 it costs on sale.

A piture tells 1000 words. I bought a second pair of those because I had a race to run and my 1st pair was destroyed in 4 runs !! I did not wanted to change shoes just before the race.I did 1, yes ONE 10km run and the result can be seen in the picture. This is a 190 eur pair of shoes !! Totally unacceptable. Do not buy these shoes if you are a runner, they will hardly take you through your front door....

I've had lots of positive experiences with Saucony shoes and these didn't disappoint. Most notably I wore these for 34 hours of a backyard ultra, logging 127 miles without a shoe change and one small blister on a pinky toe. They are a little tippy due to the stack height and the grip isn't as trustworthy as Vibram for east coast trails, but I'm happy to make an exception for exceptionally light, responsive foam, and a quality fit.
