I installed these a few days ago and for the price, they're excellent. Easily worth more. I was upgrading from on old set of friction tuners on a 30 year old uke and had to drill 3/8" holes to fit these new tuners. I didn't drill holes for the small screws, but instead used an awl to make it easier to start the small screws and they went in easily I was a little uncomfortable drilling such big holes, but once they were installed it looked like the tuners had always been there.

Garbage. Not universal and clearly doesn't fit through the holes pre-drilles for a Kala soprano ukulele.Between Amazon and Sellers who have no clue what they're selling, it's a crapshoot. Hopefully this review will save someone anyone the disappointment and ridiculousness of having to order multiple orders of the "same" timing knobs in the hopes that one may fit. Dumb.

I made a cigar box style ukulele and put on these tuners. It's a black and wood style, because I like black nylon strings, and then also the cigar box was fully wood with black print on it. I like it a ton, and am super happy with them. Uke strings are normally out of tune, don't know if it's just because I hand made everything, the strings, or these guys, but it stays in tune pretty well. Would totally recommend if you need some new tuners.

Easy to attach to a headstock of a small ukulele build I did. They look great and are easy to use.

I've had a Johnson UK-120 Soprano Ukelele for several years. It was playable, but due to the crappy "friction tuners", tuning up and keeping it in tune was a very frustrating experience (more of an annoyance and a toy than a real musical instrument). So, consequently, I never played it much !These geared tuners (15:1 ratio) turned my "toy" Ukelele into a real instrument !!! It is infinitely more tunable, and it holds the tuning very well.The "downside" is that they weren't a "drop in replacement". I had to enlarge (ream out) the existing tuner holes, and drill one small hole for one small screw per tuner.Since I already had the reamer, drill, and small drill bit, this was not a problem for me (I've done this before, on several much more expensive instruments). Just make sure you have the tools and skills to install the tuners before you buy.The tuners are very smooth and seem well made. These black tuners also look very nice with the black nylon strings. All in all, it was well worth the minor effort, and I'm very happy with my Ukelele now !!!
