Having grown up with technology and seeing its evolution since the late '70s, I continue to be amazed at these marvels of engineering that shove 1 TB of capacity in something smaller than the rubber erasers I used in elementary school. The transfer speed on the USB-C side seems slower than the USB-A side in my computer, but since that's more likely a fault of my computer, I'm glad to have both options on this drive.What I really bought it for was to be able to connect it to my Galaxy S20 with the Otterbox Defender case, so the dimensions of this drive were of particular importance. The drive fits perfectly and firmly in the gap of the case for the USB-C port. I wanted to point this out specifically since I was looking for this, and other reviews were a bit unclear on it.

This was tiny! I have other 512 Gb USB and this is so tiny. It feels a bit flimsy but works fine. I wish it was both C and USB but it is what it is. I have no complaints. It works as it should. I recommend it.

I rarely write reviews, but sometimes it’s best to share your experience so others can make an informed choice.This 512 GB flash drive is tiny and quite useful because it has both USB-A and USB-C connectors. I have to go back and forth with laptops and desktops that have one or the other and it’s very convenient to use this drive; it holds a lot and will plug-and-play in older and newer machines. Because it’s so small, it’s easy to carry in a pocket or wallet, and with the capacity, will hold a decent number of files, pictures, videos, etc. Except for the USB-C connector (which is metal), the entire housing is plastic; very lightweight.The most prominent characteristic of usage is that it’s the slowest flash drive I’ve ever owned (going back about 15 years), regardless of capacity or connector. Using either the the USB-C or USB-A ports, opening a window just to look at the contents can take 15 seconds to display what’s on it. Music files sometimes have dead spots (gaps) while the song plays, as the file loads to cache. A 15 GB copy takes roughly an hour. If these types of operating times aren’t satisfactory for your typical usage, it might be best to consider alternatives.

This is my favorite USB memory stick. It's very small, so doesn't bother when in pocket.The metal casing helps get rid of any heat efficiently.The larger capacity allowed me to back up my phone and my laptop, as well as copying pictures from my phone to laptop in a much easier, simpler, and faster way than over the network or bt.Price was as affordable as some unknown brands.Highly recommend.

I bought this as "cold storage" for my MacBook Pro M1. My plan was to offshore files from my internal SSD whenever I was running low on space but wanted to keep handy access to movie files and other stuff that didn't rate prime real estate on my SSD.I kind of stopped using thumb drives like this one a while ago. So I was surprised by how slow it is compared to one of my external SSDs or a high-speed memory card. And that's 100% on me. I'm disappointed that big file transfers take so long, but that comes with putting this much storage in a package that's barely larger than a USB-A connector.And teensy size is important for the job I want it to perform. A Samsung 512 gig SSD wouldn't have cost much more than this, and it would have been immensely quicker. But unlike the SSD, the SanDisk thumb drive is so small that I can keep it in my wallet. It's always at hand when I want to watch a movie I downloaded weeks ago, or free up space on a device.I'm also a big fan of the dual USB-A/USB-C combo connectors. It moves easily from my MacBook to my desktop to my phone to my iPad.
