These timers were a bit smaller than I expected, but work wonderfully. The bright colored sand is visually appealing in my classroom. They've taken many falls due to students playing with them, and the plastic endcaps ensure they don't crack/break. Unfortunately, if they fall and hit on another surface right in the middle, they can break. Thats how I know they are high-quality glass. That being said, I ordered another replacement set of these. Still worth the money.

I got these to help my toddler understand time. For this purpose they're great. The different colours are fun for kids too Anne help understand different amounts of time. They would also be good for using in board games or party games. But don't use them instead of a clock! Not really very accurate. I haven't tuned them all, but as an example the 1min timer actually took 71 seconds.

There's a small parts of sand that'll remain.. the sand sticks to the glass a little and when I tap it, it goes to the bottom part

Bought a second set after two years for my younger daughter. All but one of my older daughters still exist. They are vulnerable if landing on their side. Otherwise durable. Homeschooled both because of the pandemic. Got these for 2nd bday respectively. Great for math, time, stem lesson plans (timing different steps of the projects simultaneously). Beautiful in a *kids room*. Accurate. Great for when someone gets upset and has to sit out for a few minutes. Or timeouts. Great for teaching kids to set healthy boundaries themselves! My oldest is not even 5 yet and she’s in 1st grade. I like to think that her and I had more to do with that then these did but we used them for virtually every other lesson plan until she started school. She still uses them. A million applications for this and it keeps everyone away from phones and screens and beeping devices. They *also* don’t spy on you! Highly recommend

My almost 3 year old attends a Montessori school and they’re learning about time concepts. At home, I wanted to reinforce that learning, so I bought these timers. The good:1.) They’re very colorful and attractive to kids2.) The amount of time for each timer is clearly displayed in two places: at the top on the front and on the bottom on the back. The text faces in the correct direction whether direction the hourglass is standing, making them easy for kids and adults to read.3.) They’re a great size to hold in your hand and look closely at to understand how it works and they stand very stable on a flat surface with the black plastic caps on either end.4.) Unlike traditional timers, these don’t make noise or “tick”, making them a great choice for households that need to be quiet and limit sensory stimulation.5.) The hourglass is actually a thicker glass so they feel durable in your hand. While still breakable, children can learn to take special care of breakable objects, so my child is taught to be extra gentle with these.6.) There are 6 time denominations for a variety of uses: washing hands, brushing teeth, counting down a short amount of screen time, how much time is left before we leave for school, etc. The times are broken down into 1 min, 3 min, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min and are printed using a high quality ink that doesn’t scratch off.7.) They’re very affordable and an excellent way to make the very abstract concept of time, more concrete. The bad:1.) There’s extra text next to each of the time numerals on each hourglass. It’s unnecessary and I wish it wasn’t there. It says, “Happy Time :) SandGlass minutes.” These would be perfect if the only text next to each numeral was “minutes” instead. I deducted one star because of this.We love this set of hourglasses and recommend them to any household with curious toddlers, preschoolers and older children.
