Awe yeah I love measuring temperatures, especially ambient degrees of temperature. Hang it in the shade, hang it on your rod, put that bad boy in full sun and watch it climb!

This is nice and study and designed so that it would be hard to break the thermometer unless you really tried. Mine came with a couple free fishing line winding spools, which was extra nice.

When your downrigging you have to know where the temperature change occurs for the big one ,ie: Salmon, Lake trout. This gives a very accurate reading and ease of use is great clamp on and send it down.

I'm getting old and I couldn't read my small stream thermometer. This one is a little larger and easier to read.

It is a very well built unit. The thermometer itself is replaceable if it gets broken somehow. It's just one of those old school ones. It's durable. I cast it with my fishing rod, let it sink to the bottom for a few and then reel it in quickly to check the temp on the bottom

Seems well made, but when the water is cold and the air is hot, it's hard to get an accurate water temperature because the indicator rises quickly as so as the thermometer is removed from the water.

I bought this to occasionally check the temperature in the river on which we live. I accidentally left the thermometer in the water overnight once (it was attached to a cord), and when I pulled it out of the water I discovered the numbers and all other markings on the device had disappeared. It is now a useless paperweight. Maybe this thing is OK if you plan to only dunk it in the water and take it right back out again, but in my opinion a water temp thermometer shouldn't have markings that disappear when left in the water!

Ho provato il termometro utilizzando vari campioni di acqua a temperature tra 0° e 16°, che sono le temperature di interesse per la pesca a mosca, il confronto con un termometro di precisione ha rivelato uno scarto di circa 1° il che è tollerabile.
