Had installed salt cell in September, and had to replace it last week (Feb) due to the device not being able to register a salt seven above 2200 even thought water had level 0f 3700. The controller sensed low salt and would not run the generator. I had kept salt cell clean using recommended solution everything 2 months, and last time I tried to clean it, there were no deposits and the next week it failed to read salt levels.

I bought this product because it was half the price of the Haywood. At first the AquaRite read the salt at 3900 PPM, after 2 weeks it's down to 3700ppm with the desired output at 10%. My handheld reader shows 3170ppm, so I think everything is good. I'll update on the future performance.It’s been two months and the cell has been keeping the salt/chlorine where it needs to be, 3000 and up. The light to check the cell came on, so I gave it the muriatic acid treatment. The light to check the cell is still on after a couple of days and the reader says 3100. I’m surprised that I have to acid wash the cell already but we’ll see how long it lasts until the next cleaning…….Well, it only worked for about 90 days. My water is pretty bad at 500 ppm of total desolved solids. The Hayward lasted a couple of years, which I thought was bad because of the $1,000 cost. I would not recommend this purchase.

This was a perfect replacement for our salt cell. We had to reset the system for it to recognize the new cell, but it began working immediately.

We ended up not needing this one as our original equipment checked out fine. This was a great alternative just in case.
