Really good quality safety pins - yes, the firmness matters! Used these to pin consignment clothing and they held up really well even with the heavier items. Good size too if you need to pin a variety of clothing sizes/thickness.

I used these for a craft project making American Flags out of beads and they worked perfectly. It took me a little time to figure out how to dislodge the heads but once I mastered that the project advanced smoothly. I would certainly purchase these again for any craft project I might have in the future.

The size is great but the metal is the same gauge as the 2” model, so it buckled under pressure in a heavy duty application. I tried pinning my fitted sheet to the mattress. After a week it tore the sheet and bent the pin. Like I said, light duty only.

The point does not go through the fabric easily. I was pinning sheets to cover goods in storage. Could not get 3 inch pin through sheets without my husband's help. Or the pin bent. Not happy.very hard to use.
