NOTE: PLEASE CHECK YOUR THREADS TYPE!

  • NH / NST: The most common thread type in use by fire departments today is NST or National Standard Thread. NST also goes by the initials NH or National Hose. It can even be referred to as NHT or National Hose Thread. But NST or NH is more common these days. NH = NST.
  • NPSH: National Pipe Straight Hose (NPSH) or Iron Pipe Thread (IPT) has the same threads per inch (TPI) as National Pipe Tapered (NPT) but the thread does not taper. NPSH is a straight thread and seals by a gasket in the female coupling which allows for a swivel, just like NH / NST, which make both ideal for hose couplings. Warning - It will NOT thread into a female NPT pipe. For example, a male NPSH coupling will NOT thread into a female metal or pvc pipe.
  • NPT: National Pipe Tapered is common in plumbing and some industrial uses. Sometimes referred to as pipe thread because PVC pipe and schedule 40 pipe are typically threaded in NPT. As its name implies this is a tapered thread so that the outside diameter of the male (ODM) gets smaller towards the end of the fitting and the inside diameter of the female narrows with depth. As the two fittings are threaded together the opposite tapers force thread friction and makes the seal without the use of a gasket.

It does have a nice spray pattern, I have 2 of them, I made my own fire station with a small intex pool and a small gasoline water pump from home depot, in case of fire I can start it right up and spray the fire

We have a 150 GPH pump to "drain the swamp." I use this firehose nozzel when we want to put out our giant Bon Fires or when I want to give the lawn a dose of water during the dry season.

I bought this to add to my Honda High Pressure water pump. This is part of a homemade fire fighting system, as I reside in Turkey and wildfires have been an increasing problem. This little nozzle has made a huge difference. In the 'stream' mode it works very similarly to the aluminium fire fighting long jet that we get locally, and has the same or slightly better range. Where it really scores is in two areas (1) sheer amount of water delivered per minute and (2) the heavy spray or wide spray you can obtain for it in a drench setting. For the money, its brilliant. You cant quickly shut it off, but that for me isn't an issue and water pumps should be left with a little water passing through, unless you are going to shut the pump down. I have linked this to a 'storz' type connector as it is NPT thread, fits easy. Pictures to follow. Getting around 18 metres range on jet setting into a mild wind. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED FOR BUDGET HOME FIRE FIGHTING SETUPS ( unless you can afford the better but way more expensive professional kit )

I purchased this to use with my pump i use to flood the rink we make on the ice in back of my home. last year i had simply been squeezing the end of the hose to make it shoot the water further and i decided to try a nozzle this year and i am definitely not disappointed. im throwing easily 30+ feet so i am able to drill only 1 hole to flood the surface now. The quality is good, i cant speak to the longevity as i've only used this 4 times now for a total of probably 30 minutes running time. It spends its time between flooding in a warm mechanical room so i dont know if it can resist freezing if let sit outside. I guess i feel like my 25' 2" hose that i use currently will blow up before this nozzle will. It is easy to adjust but very firm at the same time so it feels very sturdy and qulity
