◆NH / NST: The most common thread type in use by fire departments today is NST or National Standard Thread. NST also goes by the initials NH or National Hose. It can even be referred to as NHT or National Hose Thread.
But NST or NH is more common these days. NH = NST.
◆NPSH: National Pipe Straight Hose (NPSH) or Iron Pipe Thread (IPT) has the same threads per inch (TPI) as National Pipe Tapered (NPT) but the thread does not taper. NPSH is a straight thread and seals by a gasket
in the female coupling which allows for a swivel, just like NH / NST, which make both ideal for hose couplings. Warning - It will NOT thread into a female NPT pipe. For example, a male NPSH coupling will NOT
thread into a female metal or pvc pipe.
◆NPT: National Pipe Tapered is common in plumbing and some industrial uses. Sometimes referred to as pipe thread because PVC pipe and schedule 40 pipe are typically threaded in NPT. As its name implies this is a tapered
thread so that the outside diameter of the male (ODM) gets smaller towards the end of the fitting and the inside diameter of the female narrows with depth. As the two fittings are threaded together the
opposite tapers force thread friction and makes the seal without the use of a gasket.

Should work if that dreaded fire comes. I'm in a semi-rural area, a lot of acreage around me. Had to buy 4 things (high pressure pump, suction hose, fire hose and spray nozzle) but I'm ready to try and save my house. Nozzle fits right on the fire hose with no additional fittings. Three outlet ports on the pump, two 2", one =2.5". Gave it a try this morning, works great. The 100-foot fire hose though is a challenge to get laid out and the kinks out! I have a 27K gallon pool, so no problem with a water source.

Bought this to use at work against paint buildup in our systems. It provides a strong beam of water and with the male and female adapters it makes it easy to set up on any cam lock system for 1 inch.

The large rubber O-ring on the end of the nozzle was cracked as was the replacement. No parts available. Seems like an easy fix if only SAFBY would provide an intact replacement O-ring. Otherwise, it appears to be a decent product and I would reorder - but due to my somewhat remote location, it becomes a bit of a hassle to keep returning an item having the same defects.

So far it is a good quality and was a great price considering i got 2 of them. Turns on easily and seals nicely when turned off. I like that it comes with both camlock set ups in case you need one or the other to hook up to extisting connections.

I purchased this Nozzle because I live in the forest and already had purchased a Trash water pump to clean my 22k gallon pool. We keep the pool as a water source to fight fires, just in case, and it was used once by the local fire deptmt. I am very pleased with the performance of this nozzle and would recommend it to anyone requiring such firefighting equipment. It does adjust to a wide suppression fan or to a long distance heavy spray to hit high into the trees. The price is also very good.
