SABRENT 3.5-Inch to x2 SSD / 2.5-Inch Internal Hard Drive Mounting Kit [SATA and Power Cables Included] (BK-HDCC)

2.5" Solid State Drives (SSDs) or Hard Disk Drives offer many benefits over larger 3.5" hard disk drives, such as lower heat output, faster speed (with SSD), and lower power consumption. But installing a new 2.5" SSD or HDD into an existing computer may not be possible due to lack of 2.5" bay drive support. The Sabrent 3.5" to 2.5" Bay Drive Converter Kit easily transforms any available 3.5" bay drive to accommodate up to two 2.5" hard disk drives or SSDs. The Converter Kit is designed to work with all types of computer cases (screw-on type or tool-less type), and can be installed quickly. The adapter is constructed from robust SECC steel to ensure strength and integrity of the adapter.

features:

* Power two SSD/SATA drives using the included Molex 4 Pin connection on the computer power supply

* Supports any computer cases with an available 3.5" drive bay (both screw-on type or tool-less type)

* Converts an available 3.5" HDD bay drive to accommodate two 2.5" HDD or SSD (Solid State Drive)

* Constructed from robust SECC steel to ensure maximum structural integrity.

What's in the box?

* Sabrent Mounting Bracket

* Molex 4 Pin to x2 15 Pin SATA Power Splitter Cable

* x2 SATA Cables (Data)

* Bag of screws

Everything you need but the SSD is included in this package. Plenty of extra screws and cables ensure that it should fit with any system. My Dell R16 has a snap in sleeve for an additional hard drive and this item fit perfectly. Didn't need the extra cables but it's good to have them handy for future storage add-ons.

The product was excellent, package very well, high quality painted metal and fit perfectly with lots of options for mounting for many needs and situations.unfortunately the seller shipped it across country the cheapest and slowest method possible taking 11 days compared to the storage drives that arrived in about 2 days from Amazon.

I used this to install 2x 2.5" SSDs into the 3.5" drive bay of a Dell Optiplex 3020 SFF system. It worked perfectly. All the necessary accessories (screws, cables, power splitters, even a little magnetic screwdriver) came with the kit, so installation was a breeze. This is a high quality product, totally worth the price, and I would 100% buy again if I ever needed one for another system.There's a little space in between the drives I used so maybe it could even accommodate one or two thick (15mm) drives like the Seagate Barracuda 5TB. Not owning one of those drives to try it, I'm not 100% certain. But you could *probably* squeeze at least one of them in there. Maybe someone else who has one could confirm/deny.

I am building an OMV server using old and leftover parts that I had laying around, that included a small laptop drive I could use for the OS as well as some other laptop disks I would be able to use for storage. This worked perfectly to mount two small laptop drives in the space of one standard drive. This was a small cost to make old drives I was likely to never use again, useful.There is one improvement I will suggest (but it might not be possible due to the supply chain) the SATA power splitter isn't designed to "click" together with the cable from the PSU, this makes it an easy point for a fault in the future. I think it would be an improvement to the product if they found a supplier that makes the SATA power splitters with a lock on the female end.

I recently purchased the SABRENT 2.5 Inch to 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Disk Drive Mounting Kit, and I must say it has exceeded my expectations in every way possible. This kit has been an absolute game-changer for me!First and foremost, the build quality is outstanding. The materials used are sturdy and durable, ensuring a secure and reliable mounting solution for my 2.5-inch SSDs and hard drives. The parts fit perfectly together, and the installation process was a breeze. It's evident that SABRENT takes pride in crafting products that last.The versatility of this mounting kit is also worth praising. With its adjustable design, I was able to easily convert my 2.5-inch drives into a standard 3.5-inch form factor, making them compatible with my desktop's drive bays. I didn't have to worry about any compatibility issues, as the kit accommodates various drive sizes and types flawlessly.I was pleasantly surprised by how effective the vibration reduction feature is. My drives now stay remarkably stable and quiet, even during heavy disk operations. This has not only improved overall system performance but has also helped extend the lifespan of my precious storage devices.The installation process was straightforward, thanks to the included detailed instructions. Even if you're not particularly tech-savvy, you should have no trouble fitting this kit into your system. Plus, SABRENT provides all the necessary screws and tools, so there's no need to hunt for additional components.Another fantastic aspect of this product is its affordability. Considering the outstanding quality and functionality, the pricing is incredibly reasonable. An adapter that enables you to install a 2.5" drive in a 3.5" slot sounds like it shouldn't be difficult to design. But thanks to the myriad of ways that desktop PC makers have come up with to install drives in their machines, it is actually quite challenging. I've installed many 2.5" drives, mostly SSDs, in computers with 3.5" drive bays, and most adapter designs have proven difficult or impossible to use in many of them. The Sabrent BK-HDDH adapter is the one I've had the least trouble with.I believe this mount's versatility comes from two things. First, Sabrent thoughtfully provided multiple sets of screw holes, both for mounting the drive to the adapter, and attaching the adapter to the drive sled, rails or drive bay. (They also thoughtfully include eight screws that fit 2.5" drive mounting threads, and four full size case screws.) There are enough holes to allow this adapter to fit almost any desktop PC. Second, this kit provides a lower drive position and an upper drive position. I'm sure Sabrent's intention was simply to allow the adapter to hold multiple drives, I have encountered a lot of desktop PC cases where the cable routing or connectors make it impossible to hook up a drive bolted to the floor of the adapter. In situations like that, mounting the drive to the upper position usually solves the problem.The only thing I can think of that could make this kit even more flexible, if harder to set up, would be to make it possible to move the drive mounting surfaces horizontally. That would make for a better fit in cases that use inflexible drive cable routing that expects all SATA drive connectors to line up with the standard 3.5" drive connector location.

Nice little mount, except for one thing:Right angle sata cables: The unit seats the drives just a bit too far in to be able to use right angle SATA cables. This is kind of a bigger deal for me, as I use the 90 degree right angled sata cables to keep airflow nice and the system cabling looking nice. As it is, the drive sits back from the edge of the rack, and that extra few millimeters of rack interferes with the cable bracket. It seats, but it's putting stress on the connector, so not a good idea. If you are using straight cables or only going to use the top mount, it's not a big deal, though. Still, all they had to do was move the mounting point a little further out, or a little further in, and it would have been perfect. So, one star docked.Still, the finish is good, the edges are smooth and not sharp, the fit is good, sides nicely ported out so your screwdriver can get in the mount it, and the hole in the bottom allows for nice airflow around the drives.I saw some people complain about the center mounting not allowing them to use this rack for easily pulling the drives in and out of a hot swap bay....That is not what this rack is for. This rack is for mounting 2.5" drives internally into your 3.5" drive cage.If hotswapping in and out of a bay is what you need, you should really buy a hot swap bay that natively accepts 2.5" drives. Icydock has one that fits in 5 inch bay that will take a 3.5" and two 2.5" drives at the same time, it's like $25, or get one of the many many usb 3 or esata external docks.
