Throttle Body Installation Notes
After replace the throttle body, the idle speed is usually high, unstable or the engine fault light on.
This is because the newly installed throttle body parameters are inconsistent with the original.
Now you need to match the throttle to the computer. The matching process actually is to clear the original memory of the ECU, and restart the self-learning.
When the computer cannot match, you can use the manual method to match.

The Amazon throttle has the wrong connector piece, even though the seller said it would fit. I just went ahead and put the pull yard throttle back on it. It started without needing a relearn. I'll just keep the pull yard throttle. I am upset with this purchase. The seller mislead me to think it would fit my car. The seller wasted my money and my time.

The first one I ordered I got decorative plastic plate holders. But they fixed the issue and resent another one and it was the correct part this time. Still going strong in my 2005 mercury....tyvm! I have 4 stars because of the delivery issues.

Here is the throttle body relearn procedures1. Start the engine and let it idle in the park for 3 minutes. During that period the idle may be higher idle than normal.2. After 3 minutes, turn the engine off and leave it off for 60- seconds.3. Start the engine again and let it idle in the park for 3 minutes one more time. During these run periods, you may see a check engine light. Scan for codes and if you get throttle body-related codes, clear them.4. If the idle speed is still off, drive the vehicle at speeds above 44 mph and operate several acceleration and deceleration cycles. Then repeat step #3 one last time.
