This is a Christmas gift. Since the box was so beat up, I won't know until the person opens it on Christmas as to whether it works or not.

Edger feels cheap. Outside wheel disengaged properly for doing curbs the first time used, but would not lock back up for flat surfaces after first use. Can be used only for curbs that are less than nine inches wide. The edger guide does not stay down; vibrates back up after just a few seconds. Returns for warranty work require the owner to pay for packaging (about $24 at FedEx); just the shipping is paid for by Ryobi. Cannot just drop off defective product at a nearby Home Depot, as can be done with Ryobi products bought at Home Depot. Don't think they properly tested this item before coming to market. Very sad.

This edger performs very well. Easy to use. Lightweight. Moderate price. Would buy it again and definitely recommend it to friends.
