Product is very sturdy. The self tapping screws that are included go thru the aluminum bracket very easily. No predrilling is needed. I am a 70yr. old women and I installed this bracket with no problems. I would recommend it.

These brackets were so easy to install on my wooden 4X4 post. They're strong and work with my metal mailbox with an 8" floor.

I bought this to make this project simple and easy. None of the holes line up with the mailbox and it’s supposed to have small holes in the sides to attach the mailbox but had no holes at all. I had to take it to someone to cut the holes in the metal brackets for me. I do not recommend this product at all.

Just 2 words describes these brackets the best...: "Absolutely great!".Everything about them is very good. They are very sturdy (especially for the large boxes they hold)Easy to install, good price and they really do the job! I highly recommend them!

I bought a different type but found my mailbox wasn't that large. This one adjusts and went on easily. One downside that appeared later: I bought a personalized magnetic mailbox covers and the 4 edges of this bracket did keep the cover from applying smoothly. But it's on, it just shows the lumps where the brackets come put over the mailbox.

It holds my mailbox in place and was easy to install. A previous reviewer said to watch the installation video that is listed in the included instructions. That was a great tip. I watched the short video and installed it. The self-tapping screws went through the supports to anchor the mailbox using medium pressure with an electric drill/screw driver. After about two or three seconds you will start to see the metal shavings and then the screws will proceed to go in and then tighten up. Another reviewer expressed what I thought was a valid concern that the self-tapping screws might rust. My mailbox is black, so I used some old black Rust-Oleum paint in a small can that I had laying around to paint over the screws as a precaution, plus the metallic screws will not stand out now. Overall, I am happy with it. It has a nice look too. For the price (equivalent to the cheap wood brace I found in the big box stores) and for buying an American made good, I would easily recommend this to others.

The product did an excellent job of attaching our 8" wide mailbox to our new Mayne Newport Plus post except that I had to replace the 8 screws that came with it at a cost of an additional $4.45. There are 4 wood screws that attach the brackets to the post and 4 more self-tapping screws that attach the box to the brackets. All 8 were regular steel which would start rusting and get really ugly in no time. WHY, in a product that brags about "rust-free," would you ship with regular steel hardware??As others have mentioned, the self-tapping screws only work after pre-drilling a hole (which is I believe how self-tapping screws are supposed to work), so this really was not an issue.Other than having to make a trip to Lowes and spend another 25% on top of the original purchase for stainless steel hardware, I am quite happy with the installation and the final look/stability of my mailbox.
