It's not the best ever, but it's als not the worst. I'm happy to have it. It's a good mallet to have that you wouldn't care if it takes a beating and gets a little roughed up. So far it's been able to hande some abuse that I've thrown at it. I like that the grip is plastic and not wood because it will hold up to the humidity in my area a lot better. We'll see how well she holds up over time. A solid 4 stars.

This hammer is well made with a nice handle that feels good in your hand. The rubberized texture allows you to keep a solid grip on it in wet or sweaty conditions too. The head is firmly attached to the handle and feels quite sturdy, and the weight is about right for light duty tasks like assembling furniture or pounding lumber into place.

This mallet is a really great weight, not so heavy you can't lift it, but plenty heavy for doing the task you would need a nice big rubber mallet for. I have been using it for yard and lawn stuff. I like it a lot and suggest it.

I've had a few different rubber mallets over the years, and they usually have the wooden handle and are pretty light. This one has some heft to it with the fiberglass handle and I like that part the best. It has a bit of a stiff hit to it in my opinion, but not like a dead blow hammer.I'm happy with this mallet. Next time I need a mallet, I'll get this one or something like it.

I have been wanting to replace my Harbor Freight rubber mallet for a long time because it is chipping apart every time I use it. Finaly this mallet came along, and it is really nice. For some reason it does not seem as heavy as I was expecting. It has great balance and I can swing it for hours and not get tired. I have been building a lot of shop furniture lately and I use the mallet to tap the wood into alignment before drilling and screwing. Also, if I use pocket holes you have to be very precise before clamping or your pieces can shift on you. This mallet has only been with me a couple of days and I can tell it will be the one I grab from now on. I have dead blow mallets, but they leave little black marks when you hit the wood. This mallet did not leave marks. This is a very nice 16 oz mallet and I can definitely recommend it for the DIYer and handyman. Not sure if it would hold up to daily use for a professional, but it does feel good in your hands.....

This is a really great mallet for the price. I have purchased other more expensive ones that are not as good as this one. The material is solid, it has the right amount of weight to it and works well. The size is really good too cause it is not too big or too small. Overall, just a great mallet for a great price.

Whether or not you’re an avid DIY’er, I firmly believe that every home should have a ready stash of necessary tools. You never know when a pipe needs a quick tightening or a shelf needs to be realigned or a picture needs to be hung or whatever everyday life throws at a homeowner.Though it may not be one of the first tools that comes to mind, a mallet should be one of those tools in every home’s toolbox. Whether it be for driving in stakes while picnicking, knocking a shelf or a stud into place, assembling furniture from a big box store, adjusting a flooring plank or a wall tile, or any other project that requires soft blunt force but can’t afford to mar the surface, a rubber mallet is the tool to use instead of a standard steel hammer. This 16-ounce long handled mallet has a very even weight distribution which makes it easy to swing, providing strong and even blows. Mallets are not intended to deliver a strong impact upon the surface as a hammer would when driving in a nail. The larger rubber head on this mallet will strike a surface to move it or nudge it without causing damage to the surface itself. This mallet has a lightweight fiberglass handle that is comfortable to grip, slip resistant, and leaves all the weight in the strong rubber mallet head. The handle is shock absorbent to relieve some of the stress from your arm and hand. The entire tool is slightly more than a foot long. It’s durable, too, since the head is apparently injection molded directly to the handle.I’m a fairly lazy guy who’s not generally looking for extra work to do but, with this mallet in my hand, I’m anxiously anticipating that flooring job I have planned for the Spring!
